POMONA, Calif. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 47th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals:

The championship scenario in Pro Stock Motorcycle is pretty simple - if Eddie Krawiec gets to the semifinals, he is the champion. If he gets to round two, Hector Arana Jr. must win the event and set a national ET record or Krawiec is the champion. If Krawiec does not get out of round one, Arana must win the event.

Dead-even at the start, then Smith slowly pulled ahead for the win.

Angie Smith's incremental margins: 60ft(0.019), 330 ft(0.022), 660ft(0.028), 1,000ft(0.032). MOV: 0.0352 seconds (approximately 10 feet).

Ellis had a couple hundredths in hand at the start, but Smith led by half track and held on for the win. Matt Smith's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.002), 330 ft(0.009), 660ft(0.010), 1,000ft(0.007). MOV: 0.0041 seconds (approximately 14 inches).

This is the first time Tonglet and Savoie have faced each other in eliminations.

Savoie had a great light, but could not keep pace with Tonglet. LE Tonglet's MOV: 0.0985 seconds (approximately 25 feet).

Phillips had a great light, but Hines made yet another very quick run and won going away. He will have lane choice against Angie Smith in round 2.

Arana gets a big win - it's also quick enough to back up a national ET record. He will have lane choice against Matt Smith in round 2.

Great lights in both lanes and Krawiec did what he's done all weekend, winning easily. That forces Arana Jr. to both win the event and get a national ET record. Krawiec has lane choice against reigning champion Tonglet in round 2.

Gann went red, then Johnson broke at the line. He saw the red light in the other lane and stood up with his arms upraised. He will not have lane choice against Arana in round 2.
