POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 47th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Mark Wolfe Runs 6.601/210.21, Now #1
Right Lane: Grace Howell Runs 6.615/208.97, Now #2

12:14 p.m. . Weather conditions: air temperature 74 degrees, relative humidity 21 percent, barometer 29.03 inches, adjusted altitude 2,322 feet, track temperature 84 degrees.

We have a full overcast now and the just completed ProStock Bike session was fast and quick.

Mustangs a pair to the line. It's a new career best for Wolfe, but I don't think it will make the cut.

Left Lane: Gordie Rivera Runs 6.766/206.07, Now #4
Right Lane: Buddy Perkinson Runs 6.628/208.75, Now #3

Rivera's GXP is a little slow off the line and is well off his best. No big numbers for Perkinson either.

Left Lane: Steve Kent Runs 6.609/209.14, Now #3
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.595/210.44, Now #1

Johnson chatters the tires off the line and he still cards our first sub-sixty time.

Nice pass for Kent too.

Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.750/178.83, Now #7
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.554/210.97, Now #1

Gaines' car steps out towards the wall at the green and it costs him

Great pass for Morgan to take over the new top spot.

Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.560/211.06, Now #2
Right Lane: Ronnie Humphrey Runs 6.570/211.13, Now #3

Both cars run well and slid into the top of the ladder near to top.

Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 9.742/89.92, Now #12
Right Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.572/211.03, Now #4

Krisher's GXP goes wacky off the line and drives hard towards the center line. He horses it back and clicks it early.

Clean and straight for Gray into the new #4 spot.

Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.578/209.75, Now #6
Right Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.563/210.57, Now #3

Happy 51th Birthday Roger Brogdon!

Ron Krisher is on the bump spot at 9.742.

Two more clean passes into the top half of the field. Stanfield's numbers were better on the bottom of the track. Brogdon on the top.

Left Lane: Erica Enders Runs 6.601/210.87, Now #8
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.620/197.77, Now #12

V. Gaines is on the bump spot at 6.750.

Johnson was strong down low, but just gets in on the bump. Enders has the top end charge, running the second fastest pass of the session.

Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.537/211.46, Now #1

Allen Johnson is on the bump spot at 6.620.

Nobile's car moves around a little off the line and he moves into the number four spot. Classis Summit pass and Anderson has low ET and top speed.

Vincent Nobile's incremental times: 60ft-0.983 sec., 330ft-2.753, 660ft-4.226/167.34 mph, 1,000ft-5.494.
Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.977 sec., 330ft-2.743, 660ft-4.209/168.28 mph, 1,000ft-5.472.

Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.520/210.93, Now #1
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.538/211.20, Now #3

Last pair. Steve Kent is on the bump spot at 6.609.

Edwards starts with the best 60 foot time and thunders on down the track and into the final top spot. Line is off the line first, but can't quite match the pace and has to settle for #3 today.
