As NHRA celebrates its 60th anniversary there have been a lot of very special events taking place and one of the best will occur this weekend. For the first time in almost a decade, drag race legend Don "The Snake" Prudhomme will open up his shop to the general public. This is a great opportunity for fans to stop by and see one of the great drag racing car collections of all time. Featuring most of Don's history making cars, the collection includes dragsters and Funny Cars along with classic cars and other pieces of drag racing history and memorabilia. One of the highlights of the event will be the display of the two car carriers that were used by Don and his Hot Wheels rival, Tom "The Mongoose" McEwen as they toured the country. Recently restored, these two rigs are as much a part of the history of "The Snake" as any of his race cars and they have been the center of attention everywhere they go. In addition to the display there will be tours of Don's shop, special autograph sessions and surprise guests who will drop by throughout the day. Admission is FREE and there will be door prizes and other surprises for those who stop by. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to visit Don's shop, meet the legendary "Snake" and see some of the cars that were part of the 60 years of drag racing history. The open house takes place this Saturday, November 5th between 10 A.M. and 3 P.M. For more information or directions call 760-598-7121
