POMONA, Calif.? -- Finals As a special thanks to the brave men and women who serve this country in the armed forces and to help celebrate Veterans Day, NHRA announced today that it will offer free general-admission tickets to both active and retired military for Friday?s racing at the 2011 Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals.? To help recognize the Veterans Day holiday, which also happens to be the same day as Friday qualifying for the event, Nov. 11, one complimentary Friday qualifying ticket per person will be issued to military members at the main ticket gate at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. Proof of active or retired military status will be required to receive the complimentary general-admission ticket. Military and fans attending the 47th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals, Nov. 10-13, will not only get to see the exciting and heart pounding action that is NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing, they will also get to witness the battle for the world championships in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle as the NHRA Full Throttle Countdown to the Championship makes its final stop of the season at historic Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. In addition to the intense racing on the track, NHRA?s season-long 60th anniversary celebration will come to a close, and 15-time NHRA Funny Car world champion John Force will be honored during the event as the official NHRA Legend and many of his historic cars will be featured in a special car corral during the event. There will be plenty of autograph sessions and meet and greet opportunities with Force. The popular Track Walk with a Legend will take place prior to Sunday?s final eliminations. Some of the best seats are still available for fans who want to attend the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals, including general admission, reserved-seat and Top Eliminator Club tickets.
