Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Final Session

LAS VEGAS - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 11th annual Big O Tires NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Right Lane: Chip King Runs 13.876/88.29, Now #19; Best prior run: 8.112/119.25, Was #19

Weather conditions: air temperature 66 degrees, relative humidity 22 percent, barometer 28.02 inches, adjusted altitude 2,991 feet, track temperature 84 degrees.

King shook right off the starting line...

Left Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 6.320/239.27, Now #18; Best prior run: 9.497/129.33, Was #21
Right Lane: Mike Knowles Runs 6.142/238.13, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.785/227.65, Was #18

Matusek with his quickest pass, but he will not get in the show. Knowles with his quickest pass of the weekend and he gets in the show. Mike Knowles' incremental times: 60ft-0.972 sec., 330ft-2.676, 660ft-4.050/183.32 mph, 1,000ft-5.192.

Left Lane: Roger Burgess No Time, Now #21; Best prior run: 8.450/150.43, Was #21
Right Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 6.119/246.03, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.355/234.66, Was #19

Burgess left before the tree was activated...Coughlin with his quickest pass of the weekend and gets in the show. Troy Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-1.057 sec., 330ft-2.798, 660ft-4.108/191.62 mph, 1,000ft-5.203.

Left Lane: Adam Flamholc Runs 6.117/235.72, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.241/196.13, Was #17
Right Lane: Joe Lepone Jr Runs 6.095/236.22, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.292/223.73, Was #18

Both these drivers get in the show...Adam Flamholc's incremental times: 60ft-0.990 sec., 330ft-2.663, 660ft-4.014/182.87 mph, 1,000ft-5.160.
Joe Lepone Jr's incremental times: 60ft-1.030 sec., 330ft-2.702, 660ft-4.019/188.02 mph, 1,000ft-5.144.

Right Lane: Clint Hairston Runs 6.179/241.63, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.077/243.72, Was #14

Clint Hairston's incremental times: 60ft-1.061 sec., 330ft-2.790, 660ft-4.121/188.20 mph, 1,000ft-5.243.

This was a good looking drag race...Smith gets into the top half of the field. Rickie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.017 sec., 330ft-2.662, 660ft-3.960/191.21 mph, 1,000ft-5.068. Lang with his quickest pass of the weekend. Kenny Lang's incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.653, 660ft-3.959/190.03 mph, 1,000ft-5.067.

Left Lane: Jay Payne Runs 5.918/242.50, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.015/240.64, Was #8
Right Lane: Pete Farber Runs 5.964/244.03, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.042/241.15, Was #13

Payne with a great pass to go to the number three spot...Farber gets into the top half of the field...Pete Farber's incremental times: 60ft-1.014 sec., 330ft-2.650, 660ft-3.942/192.69 mph, 1,000ft-5.040.

Left Lane: Brad Personett Runs 5.848/256.70, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.996/254.81, Was #7
Right Lane: Donald Martin Runs 5.924/244.78, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.027/242.50, Was #12

Personett launches hard and keeps it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Brad Personett's incremental times: 60ft-1.000 sec., 330ft-2.665, 660ft-3.917/198.79 mph, 1,000ft-4.970. Martin with his quickest pass of the weekend to get into the top half of the show. Donald Martin's incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-2.611, 660ft-3.904/191.48 mph, 1,000ft-5.003.

Left Lane: Mike Janis Runs 9.744/91.61, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.994/239.31, Was #8
Right Lane: Dennis Radford Runs 9.037/103.84, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.026/232.35, Was #12

Janis shook right at the hit...Radford with a lot of tire shake and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Danny Rowe Runs 12.367/71.57, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.919/244.25, Was #5
Right Lane: Khalid Balooshi Runs 5.996/238.85, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.019/238.43, Was #11

Rowe shook right at the hit and clicked it off...Balooshi with his quickest pass of the weekend to move up the ladder two spots. Khalid Balooshi's incremental times: 60ft-1.001 sec., 330ft-2.649, 660ft-3.948/191.08 mph, 1,000ft-5.055.

Left Lane: Leah Pruett Runs 5.918/229.59, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.855/252.24, Was #2
Right Lane: Melanie Troxel Runs 5.900/253.66, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.897/253.28, Was #3

Pruett slowed on the top end....Troxel with another good pass. Melanie Troxel's incremental times: 60ft-1.030 sec., 330ft-2.702, 660ft-3.955/198.76 mph, 1,000ft-5.012.
