Junior Fuel Qualifying Notes, Final Session

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Notes from final, round 2 qualifying in Junior Fuel at the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Racing Series, 20th annual California Hot Rod Reunion, presented by the Automobile Club of Southern California listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Fred Notkza Runs 7.257/184.22, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.180/185.00, Was #2
Right Lane: Don Enriquez Runs 7.229/185.36, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.239/185.00, Was #3

3:33 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 87 degrees, relative humidity 34 percent, barometer 28.92 inches, adjusted altitude 3,210 feet, track temperature 111 degrees.

Field not filled, no bump spot.

Two great side by side passes, but no where near Lander' 7.13 ET. They stay in their current spots.

Don Enriquez's incremental times: 60ft-1.053 sec., 330ft-2.958, 660ft-4.595/149.58 mph, 1,000ft-6.018.

Left Lane: Odie Coker Runs 7.269/183.37, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.269/182.28, Was #4
Right Lane: J.D. Zink Runs 7.425/164.75, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.427/154.71, Was #5

Middle of the pack qualifiers.

Two more strong passes. Coker matches his prior best and Zink slows by 0.002.

Odie Coker's incremental times: 60ft-1.096 sec., 330ft-2.990, 660ft-4.619/149.55 mph, 1,000ft-6.048.
J.D. Zink's incremental times: 60ft-1.051 sec., 330ft-2.948, 660ft-4.618/144.89 mph, 1,000ft-6.113.

Left Lane: Brandon Lewis Runs 7.506/173.78, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.507/174.80, Was #6
Right Lane: Johnnie Laird Runs 7.709/173.49, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.676/172.76, Was #7

Once again, two passes close to their best. Lewis picks up 0.001 and Laird loses a couple.

OK! Lander pushes the top spot even further away from the pack on another great looking pass. He will get the first round bye.
