MOHNTON, Pa. - It's been a good year for Joey Cambria at Maple Grove Raceway.

The driver from nearby Shillington, Pa., won twice this summer in his 2003 Kens Kustom dragster. Sunday at the 40th annual Pennsylvania Dutch Classic, Cambria got a trifecta as he took the Super Comp class.

Cambria's victory was one of 11 during the weekend as the normally four-day event was squeezed into two by wet weather.

Run by the NHRA Northeast Division as its annual Sony/P.C. Richard & Son National Open, the crew managed to give the hundreds of entrants their time runs and elimination rounds, and finish before dusk on Sunday.

Cambria won his race with a pass of 8.913 at 157.26 mph to beat Joshua Marauszwski (Cheshire, Mass.) and his S&W Dragster. His class was one of four back for a second consecutive weekend. Several racers were back at Maple Grove as the Sportsman portion of the Auto-Plus NHRA Nations were completed Oct. 8.

In the three other categories that were raced both weekends, winners included Larry Jewell (Ulysses, Pa.) in Super Stock, Katie Sepanek (Moosic, Pa.) in Stock Eliminator and Derek Clark (Maugansville, Md.) in Super Gas.

Jewell beat Maple Grove veteran Marty Rinehart (Thomasville, Pa.) in the final with a pass of 9.586 at 152.81 in his '67 Corvette.

Sepanek ran her '72 Chevelle past Don Himes (Port Charlotte, Fla.) when he fouled at the start. Clark overcame a better reaction time by Darlene Staub (Dover, Pa.) to win in 9.919 at 154.35.

Because of weather conditions, three classes were run at an eighth-mile.

In Competition Eliminator, Ray Vierheller (Barberton, Ohio) ran 4.592 at 146.53 in a McKinney dragster to beat Joe Carnasciale (Cranston, R.I.). Ryan Ondrejko (Roslindale, Mass.) took Top Sportsman in an '08 GTO, going 4.391 at 160.31 to beat Dennis Gaborlault (Millbury, Mass.). Jason Hoff (Littlestown, Pa.) grabbed Top Dragster, beating Justin Mason (Northborough, Mass.) with a pass of 4.562 at 150.38.

James Stack (Philadelphia, Pa.) won Super Street, beating Barry Moyer (Pen Argyl, Pa.) in his '71 Dodge with a run of 10.926 at 137.41.

In the Snowmobile class, Zack Davis (Brighton, Mich.) raced to a finish of 8.368 at 151.56 in his '11 SkiDoo to beat Scott Marsh (Highland, N.Y.)..

Gary Wolkwitz (Annandale, N.J.) took the HEMI Challenge in his '68 Dart, beating Jeffrey Kobylski (Macomb, Mich).

In the new P.C. Richard & Son American Muscle Class, Steven Ficacci (East Hanover, N.J.) drove his '08 Mustang over David Barton (Robesonia, Pa.).

Next weekend, Maple Grove will have its annual Fall Flea Market on Saturday morning. Gates open at 7.

Sunday will be the 10K Footbrake Nationals. Gates open at 8 a.m. and racing begins at 9.
