CHANDLER, Ariz. - Results of round 2 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 27th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals:

Head is 1 - 0 against Lee in prior events.
Well, that was weird.Lee staged deep and then double stepped the pedal to jump the lights before they were activated.

Head was having his own problems with loss of traction down track. He pumps it and gets to the finish line off the pace.

Tasca III is 3 - 1 against Arend in prior events.
What a good ol' drag race. Arend gets the initial advantage off the line and holds off a charging Tasca to the finish line with a three foot hole shot win. Just 0.010 difference in ET!

Hight is 11 - 10 against Beckman in prior events.
Another double step on the line and Hight is out of here in the second round.
Beckman red lit too, but it didn't matter. He gets to the finish line under power, but shows from his round one performance. He will race Arend in round three with lane choice.

Jack Beckman's incremental times: 60ft-0.951 sec., 330ft-2.441, 660ft-3.482/244.38 mph.

No team orders here! Gray came into the round with lane choice and was away first to lead Hagan on down the track. He gets to the finish line clean and straight and will have lane choice over Beckman in the next round.
Hagan made a good pass, just not good enough! The engine wasn't happy on the top end and slowed over a tenth.
