Auto-Plus® NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway Special Awards

MOHNTON, Pa. -- Special awards from the Auto-Plus® NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway Special Awards.

K&N Filters Horsepower Challenge award ($3,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock) - Jason Line, Summit Racing Pontiac GXP, 6.513 seconds, 211.36 mph.

NHRA Best Appearing Car - Will be awarded during the running of Super Comp, Super Stock, Stock and Super Gas on Oct. 7-8

NHRA Best Appearing Crew - Terry McMillen, Top Fuel Entry, Elkhart, IN

NHRA Best Engineered Car - Will be awarded during the running of Super Comp, Super Stock, Stock and Super Gas on Oct. 7-8

Full Throttle Hard-Working Crew Award ($3,000 each to Top Fuel and Funny Car, $1,500 to Pro Stock and $750 to Pro Stock Motorcycle for the crews that are recognized as the hardest working of the event):
Top Fuel: Del Worsham and his Al-Anabi Racing dragster set a national e. t. record in the final round of eliminations on Monday.
Funny Car: Johnny Gray, who qualified No. 1 and set a new Maple Grove Raceway track record in the process, defeated the then Funny Car points lead Mike Neff in the second round of eliminations.
Pro Stock: Jason Line ran the quickest run in Pro Stock history in round one of eliminations. He then lowered the record and reset the e. t. record in round two of eliminations on Monday.
Pro Stock Motorcycle: Hector Arana Junior qualified No. 1 for the fifth time of the season. He also set a new track record in e. t.
