NORWALK, Ohio - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, Fifth annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Harold Martin Runs 7.363/142.10, Now #1

Martin with his really cool Corvette and the car starts to get out of the groove and clicks it of early...

Left Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 5.880/241.93, Now #1
Right Lane: Ike Maier Runs 6.956/182.35, Now #2

Jones launched hard and made a real nice pass...his first quarter-mile pass in competition in the Pro Mod category. Rickie Jones' incremental times: 60ft-0.950 sec., 330ft-2.572, 660ft-3.855/192.96 mph, 1,000ft-4.952. Maier clicked it off early...

Weather conditions: air temperature 67 degrees, relative humidity 65 percent, barometer 28.95 inches, adjusted altitude 2,265 feet, track temperature 74 degrees.

Matusek smoked the tires right off the starting line and clicked it off. Cheeseman clicked it off early...

Right Lane: Chip King Runs 5.968/253.28, Now #2

Knowles with a clean pass. King launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number two spot...Chip King's incremental times: 60ft-1.052 sec., 330ft-2.753, 660ft-4.010/198.79 mph, 1,000ft-5.076.

Right Lane: Pete Farber Runs 7.059/145.34, Now #5

Payne made a quick move toward the wall. Farber started to shake and clicked it off.

Right Lane: Dennis Radford Runs 5.913/238.93, Now #2

Dennis Radford's incremental times: 60ft-0.973 sec., 330ft-2.600, 660ft-3.888/194.07 mph, 1,000ft-4.978.

Right Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 19.423/40.23, Now #13

Coughlin shook and clicked it off, Ray with problems right off the starting line and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 5.871/241.93, Now #1
Right Lane: Mike Janis Runs 6.130/238.93, Now #6

Castellana launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-0.976 sec., 330ft-2.590, 660ft-3.860/195.25 mph, 1,000ft-4.947. Janis with a quick pedal job but still gets in the top half of the show. Mike Janis' incremental times: 60ft-1.019 sec., 330ft-2.744, 660ft-4.070/196.67 mph, 1,000ft-5.188.

Right Lane: Raymond Commisso Runs 5.947/246.66, Now #5

Personett smoked the tires right off the starting line and clicked it off. Commisso was straight down the groove to get into the top half of the show. Raymond Commisso's incremental times: 60ft-0.975 sec., 330ft-2.638, 660ft-3.940/192.52 mph, 1,000ft-5.033.

Left Lane: Melanie Troxel Runs 7.176/226.54, Now #12
Right Lane: Kenny Lang Runs 5.942/246.26, Now #5

Troxel with a lot of tire shake and made a quick move toward the centerline and pedaled it to get down the track. Lang with a real nice pass to get into the top half of the show. Kenny Lang's incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.635, 660ft-3.931/192.80 mph, 1,000ft-5.026.

Left Lane: Ed Hoover Runs 6.021/239.06, Now #8
Right Lane: Roger Burgess No Time, Now #11

Hoover with a clean pass and gets into the top half of the show. Burgess lurched as he was staging and the we just get the word his run will be DQ'ed because the was a real wheel start.

Left Lane: Danny Rowe Runs 5.863/246.93, Now #1
Right Lane: Khalid Balooshi Runs 5.879/241.97, Now #3

This was a great drag race to wrap up round one of qualifying as rowe goes to Number one and Balooshi goes to the number three spot. Danny Rowe's incremental times: 60ft-0.953 sec., 330ft-2.579, 660ft-3.866/194.21 mph, 1,000ft-4.952.
Khalid Balooshi's incremental times: 60ft-0.974 sec., 330ft-2.590, 660ft-3.864/195.11 mph, 1,000ft-4.952.
