Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Session #1

BRISTOL, Tenn. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 11th annual Ford NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals presented by Tri-Cities Area Ford Dealers listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 6.567/237.21, Now #1

Matusek labored off the line...

Left Lane: Leah Pruett-LeDuc Runs 6.168/239.70, Now #1
Right Lane: Mike Knowles Runs 6.301/235.06, Now #2

Pruett-LeDuc with a good clean pass...Knowles was straight down the groove.

Left Lane: Chip King Runs 8.112/123.68, Now #4
Right Lane: Jay Payne No Time, Now #5

Payne with problems before staging and was pushed back...King with problems and clicked it off early.

Left Lane: Pete Farber Runs 9.186/98.87, Now #6
Right Lane: Dennis Radford Runs 6.102/235.39, Now #1

Radford with a nice pass to go to the number one spot for now. Farber clicked it off early.

Left Lane: Melanie Troxel Runs 7.412/187.60, Now #6
Right Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 6.354/230.72, Now #4



Left Lane: Mike Janis Runs 6.251/231.95, Now #4
Right Lane: Brad Personett Runs 5.961/252.80, Now #1

Personett launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Brad Personett's incremental times: 60ft-1.008 sec., 330ft-2.717, 660ft-3.989/195.65 mph, 1,000ft-5.066. Janis with a nice pass.

Left Lane: Scott Ray Runs 8.791/104.23, Now #11
Right Lane: Raymond Commisso Runs 6.099/217.28, Now #2

Commisso was straight down the groove to go to the number two spot. Raymond Commisso's incremental times: 60ft-1.000 sec., 330ft-2.682, 660ft-4.004/189.18 mph, 1,000ft-5.120. Ray clicked it off early.

Left Lane: Kenny Lang Runs 6.201/238.01, Now #5
Right Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.750/169.25, Now #10

Smith shook the tires right at the hit...Lang spun, but got it to hook up and went to the number five spot. Rickie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.011 sec., 330ft-2.775, 660ft-4.194/177.81 mph, 1,000ft-5.486.

Left Lane: Roger Burgess Runs 6.104/226.24, Now #4
Right Lane: Ed Hoover Runs 6.224/233.64, Now #7

Hoover gets into the top half of the show. Burgess with a nice pass to go to the number four spot. Roger Burgess' incremental times: 60ft-1.053 sec., 330ft-2.794, 660ft-4.082/195.08 mph, 1,000ft-5.158.

Left Lane: Danny Rowe Runs 6.243/203.98, Now #9
Right Lane: Khalid Balooshi Runs 6.014/242.15, Now #2

Danny Rowe's incremental times: 60ft-1.011 sec., 330ft-2.693, 660ft-4.064/182.67 mph, 1,000ft-5.207. Balooshi was loose, but reel it in to go to the number two spot...Khalid Balooshi's incremental times: 60ft-1.031 sec., 330ft-2.691, 660ft-3.987/192.33 mph, 1,000ft-5.084.
