Top Fuel Qualifying Notes, Final Session

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 42nd annual NHRA SuperNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Bob Vandergriff Runs 4.033/302.35, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.841/115.65, Was #16
Right Lane: Fred Farndon Runs 4.220/248.43, Now #16; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 78 degrees, relative humidity 38 percent, barometer 29.97 inches, adjusted altitude 1,737 feet, track temperature 103 degrees.

Farndon gets down the track and will get in the show. Fred Farndon's incremental times: 60ft-0.884 sec., 330ft-2.298, 660ft-3.322/244.83 mph. Vandergriff with his quickest pass of the weekend to get into the show. Bob Vandergriff's incremental times: 60ft-0.864 sec., 330ft-2.247, 660ft-3.227/260.31 mph.


Left Lane: Luigi Novelli No Time, Now #17; Best prior run: 5.120/153.46, Was #17
Right Lane: Pat Dakin No Time, Now #18; No Prior Run

Novelli and ignition problems and the team shut off. Dakin's car was leaking something and he was shut off. so these guys won't get in the show.

Left Lane: Dom Lagana Runs 3.972/286.80, Now #14; Best prior run: 3.920/309.27, Was #14
Right Lane: Terry McMillen Runs 9.442/84.02, Now #13; Best prior run: 3.904/315.56, Was #13

McMillen was up in smoke as soon as he hit the the throttle. Lagana was on a good pass until right in the lights with a bang and a quick flash of flames. Dom Lagana's incremental times: 60ft-0.858 sec., 330ft-2.199, 660ft-3.157/262.28 mph.

Left Lane: Doug Foley Runs 3.880/308.92, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.889/310.55, Was #10
Right Lane: David Grubnic Runs 4.585/160.86, Now #12; Best prior run: 3.895/313.22, Was #12

Grubnic with a bang and pop and quick flash of the flame...Foley with his quickest pass of the weekend, but will stay in the number ten spot. Doug Foley's incremental times: 60ft-0.850 sec., 330ft-2.161, 660ft-3.094/269.29 mph.

Left Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.821/322.34, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.866/314.68, Was #8
Right Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 3.865/316.52, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.893/315.19, Was #11

Brown hiked the front end and set the front tires back down before blasting down the track to move up to the number five spot. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.844 sec., 330ft-2.166, 660ft-3.068/280.37 mph. Kalitta with his quickest pass of the the weekend to move up the ladder a couple spots.

Left Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 3.935/296.31, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.847/313.95, Was #7
Right Lane: Morgan Lucas Runs 7.506/93.36, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.880/315.86, Was #10

Lucas is up in smoke by 150 feet. Langdon with a clean pass...Shawn Langdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.850 sec., 330ft-2.171, 660ft-3.120/263.00 mph.

Left Lane: Brandon Bernstein Runs 3.966/302.82, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.831/318.77, Was #6
Right Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.857/312.50, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.863/314.24, Was #8

Bernstein with another good clean pass, but will not improve. Brandon Bernstein's incremental times: 60ft-0.879 sec., 330ft-2.230, 660ft-3.168/267.75 mph. Millican launched hard and keep it hooked up to get into the top half of the show. Clay Millican's incremental times: 60ft-0.846 sec., 330ft-2.161, 660ft-3.085/273.77 mph. Millican with the second quickest pass of the session.

Left Lane: Larry Dixon Runs 3.806/318.69, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.810/319.60, Was #4
Right Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 3.802/322.04, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.803/324.51, Was #3

This was a great side-by-side drag race...They both run their quickest passes of the weekend. Larry Dixon's incremental times: 60ft-0.830 sec., 330ft-2.136, 660ft-3.047/278.40 mph.
Tony Schumacher's incremental times: 60ft-0.843 sec., 330ft-2.156, 660ft-3.051/282.07 mph.

Left Lane: Del Worsham Runs 3.838/319.90, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.785/322.34, Was #1
Right Lane: Spencer Massey Runs 3.802/320.58, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.795/323.81, Was #2

Another great side-by-side drag race to wrap up Top Fuel qualifying. Del Worsham's incremental times: 60ft-0.846 sec., 330ft-2.172, 660ft-3.080/279.50 mph.
Spencer Massey's incremental times: 60ft-0.836 sec., 330ft-2.151, 660ft-3.049/282.36 mph.
