Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Final Session

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 42nd annual NHRA SuperNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.562/210.57, Now #14; Best prior run: 21.838/35.15, Was #19

Weather conditions: air temperature 78 degrees, relative humidity 38 percent, barometer 29.97 inches, adjusted altitude 1,737 feet, track temperature 104 degrees.

Morgan with a little wiggle right at the hit, but reeled it in to get in the show. Larry Morgan's incremental times: 60ft-0.973 sec., 330ft-2.745, 660ft-4.218/166.99 mph, 1,000ft-5.490.


Left Lane: Frank Gugliotta Runs 14.451/48.40, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.665/208.30, Was #17
Right Lane: Robert Patrick Runs 6.728/183.02, Now #18; Best prior run: 13.731/61.57, Was #19

Gugliotta chattered the tires right off the starting line and he won't get in the show. Patrick spun the tires right at the hit and he won't make the show.

Left Lane: Bob Benza Runs 6.590/209.59, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.571/209.82, Was #15
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.618/210.57, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.739/210.31, Was #19

Johnson with his quickest pass of the weekend, but he will not get in the show. Benza with another good pass, but will not improve and will start on Sunday. Bob Benza's incremental times: 60ft-0.976 sec., 330ft-2.756, 660ft-4.239/165.78 mph, 1,000ft-5.514.

Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.537/210.93, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.548/211.06, Was #12
Right Lane: Steve Kent Runs 6.545/211.20, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.595/210.90, Was #16

Kent with his career quickest and fastest pass to move him up the ladder to the number 13 spot. Steve Kent's incremental times: 60ft-0.980 sec., 330ft-2.743, 660ft-4.211/167.53 mph, 1,000ft-5.477. Johnson with his quickest pass of the weekend to move up the ladder one spot. Kurt Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.972 sec., 330ft-2.730, 660ft-4.200/167.24 mph, 1,000ft-5.469.

Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.557/210.41, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.532/210.93, Was #10
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.568/210.73, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.553/210.64, Was #14

A couple good pass, but neither driver improves...Greg Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.979 sec., 330ft-2.741, 660ft-4.212/167.24 mph, 1,000ft-5.484.

Brogdon with another good looking pass. Rodger Brogdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.973 sec., 330ft-2.726, 660ft-4.188/168.32 mph, 1,000ft-5.449. Nobile shakes and shuts off right off the starting line.

Gray with another great pass, just a tick off his qualifying time. Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.969 sec., 330ft-2.724, 660ft-4.185/168.18 mph, 1,000ft-5.446. Johnson with a good pass...Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.974 sec., 330ft-2.732, 660ft-4.196/167.88 mph, 1,000ft-5.460.

Right Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.535/212.46, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.512/212.66, Was #5

Line with a real nice pass and will qualify No. 1 for the the 19th time. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.968 sec., 330ft-2.724, 660ft-4.188/167.76 mph, 1,000ft-5.452.
