Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Final Session

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 42nd annual NHRA SuperNationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.120/186.23, Now #21; Best prior run: 7.122/190.06, Was #21

3:05 p.m. - Weather conditions: air temperature 75 degrees, relative humidity 35 percent, barometer 29.98 inches, adjusted altitude 1,498 feet, track temperature 104 degrees.

Wells was not in the field before he made his final qualifying attempt and he was not in the field after he made his final qualifying attempt. Shawn Gann is on the bump spot at 7.037.


Left Lane: Bailey Whitaker Runs 7.024/185.79, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.052/184.65, Was #19
Right Lane: David Hope Runs 7.024/185.31, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.096/183.39, Was #20

Both riders snuck into the field for now with this pair of rides. David Hope is on the bump spot at 7.024.

Left Lane: Junior Pippin Runs 6.987/187.86, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.049/188.99, Was #19
Right Lane: Justin Finley Runs 6.928/191.05, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.051/188.67, Was #20

Whitaker's and Hope's time in the field did not last long as Pippin and Finley bumped them out. This is now the quickest Pro Stock Motorcycle field ever, with everyone in the field under seven seconds.

Left Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.014/184.52, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.037/183.94, Was #20
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.127/190.11, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.030/191.92, Was #19

Two clean looking runs that were not quick enough to put either rider into the top 16.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.930/190.75, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.981/191.57, Was #15
Right Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 6.937/191.46, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.958/191.92, Was #14

Arana had his career best ET to move up four spots in the order. Underdahl moved up two spots.

Left Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 6.913/195.99, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.938/192.96, Was #13
Right Lane: GT Tonglet Runs 7.011/189.95, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.951/191.19, Was #15

Phillips moved up four spots in the order with a nice ride down the groove. Tonglet did not improve his place in the order.

Left Lane: Angie Smith Runs 6.948/185.08, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.898/186.90, Was #8
Right Lane: Mike Berry Runs 6.943/186.98, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.942/189.71, Was #14

Two good rides that had no effect on the order.

Left Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 6.924/190.24, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.889/192.80, Was #6
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.902/189.58, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.915/188.65, Was #10

Smith moved into the nine spot in the order for now, putting him in position to run against his wife in the first round.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.850/193.13, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.867/193.38, Was #4

Arana's ride had no effect on the order.

Left Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.851/193.43, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.826/195.79, Was #2
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.922/190.65, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.885/193.49, Was #5

Another pair of good rides that did nothing to change the qualifying order.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.856/192.11, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.819/195.62, Was #1
Right Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.921/190.83, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.836/192.74, Was #3

Two good rides, but neither Krawiec or Savoie improved. Qualifying finishes with Krawiec at the top of the order.
