Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #3

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 42nd annual NHRA SuperNationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.037/183.94, Now #13; No Prior Run

12:12 p.m. - Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 40 percent, barometer 30.03 inches, adjusted altitude 1,234 feet, track temperature 93 degrees.

Gann had a 6.981 second ET yesterday but that did not put him in the top 12.


Left Lane: David Hope Runs 7.096/183.39, Now #14; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 8.317/109.19, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.981/191.57, Was #12

Arana was okay to mid track, then slowed. Hope made his first qualifying attempt of the weekend.

Left Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 6.958/191.92, Now #12; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.122/190.06, Now #16; No Prior Run

Underdahl went from outside the field to the number 12 spot with a nice ride down the groove. Wells moved into the number 16 spot with a good ride in his lane. Wesley Wells is on the bump spot at 7.122.

Left Lane: Justin Finley Runs 7.051/188.67, Now #16; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Junior Pippin Runs 7.049/188.99, Now #15; No Prior Run

Pippin got into the 15 spot with a clean ride, Finley took his bike down the groove to edge into the field at number 16.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.030/191.92, Now #14; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Bailey Whitaker Runs 7.052/184.65, Now #18; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 36 percent, barometer 29.99 inches, adjusted altitude 1,564 feet, track temperature 98 degrees.

Johnson bumped himself into the field for now, Whitaker came close but was not quick enough to make the top 16. Junior Pippin is on the bump spot at 7.049.


Left Lane: GT Tonglet Runs 7.007/188.20, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.951/191.19, Was #11
Right Lane: Angie Smith Runs 6.898/186.90, Now #8; No Prior Run

Smith had a quick run to go from out of the field to the number eight spot for now. That pushed Tonglet down one spot. Shawn Gann is on the bump spot at 7.037.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.915/188.65, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.943/192.19, Was #11
Right Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 6.947/196.85, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.938/192.96, Was #9

Smith had his quickest ride of the weekend to move up two spots and leapfrog Phillips in the order.

Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.004/182.01, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.942/189.71, Was #11
Right Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 6.950/190.27, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.889/192.80, Was #6

Neither rider was quicker than yesterday.

Left Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 7.109/164.31, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.893/190.83, Was #7
Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.826/195.79, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.882/194.97, Was #4

Stoffer had her career best ET to move into the to spot in the qualifying order. Tonglet's bike had a little wiggle at the start so he was not as quick as yesterday.

Left Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.903/191.08, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.885/193.49, Was #5
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.867/193.38, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.879/192.93, Was #4

Arana had his quickest run of the weekend so far but did not move in the order. Hines was not as quick as yesterday.

Left Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.987/187.34, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.836/192.74, Was #2
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.819/195.62, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.841/195.39, Was #3

Krawiec took over the number one spot in the order with a nice ride down the track. Savoie was not as quick as yesterday and moved down to the number three spot in the order.
