Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #2

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 42nd annual NHRA SuperNationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.341/177.77, Now #19; No Prior Run

6:33 p.m. - Weather conditions: air temperature 78 degrees, relative humidity 28 percent, barometer 29.92 inches, adjusted altitude 1,729 feet, track temperature 104 degrees.

Wells did not make a run in the first session. He went down the track but was not quick enough to get into the top 12.


Left Lane: Junior Pippin Runs 7.236/186.85, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.170/186.05, Was #18

Pippin was not quick enough to make it into the top 12. GT Tonglet is on the bump spot at 7.040.

Left Lane: Bailey Whitaker Runs 7.026/186.28, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.078/180.33, Was #17
Right Lane: Justin Finley Runs 7.005/193.79, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.379/161.87, Was #20

Two nice runs and both riders are in the top 12 for now. Bailey Whitaker is on the bump spot at 7.026.

Left Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 6.938/192.96, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.057/195.08, Was #16
Right Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 7.013/190.86, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.078/189.15, Was #18

Phillips made it into the top 12 with a nice ride. Underdahl just missed. Mike Berry is on the bump spot at 7.005.

Left Lane: Angie Smith Runs 6.998/187.81, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.039/184.95, Was #15
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.984/191.97, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.073/189.20, Was #18

Smith and Johnson made it into the top 12 for now. Angie Smith is on the bump spot at 6.998.

Left Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 11.045/74.51, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.981/188.12, Was #9
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.885/193.49, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.052/188.28, Was #18

Gann got to mid track and got off the throttle. Hines made it into the number two spot with a nice ride.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 9.964/84.12, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.981/191.57, Was #9
Right Lane: GT Tonglet Runs 6.951/191.19, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.040/187.13, Was #18

Tonglet made it into the top 12 with this ride. Steve Johnson is on the bump spot at 6.984.

Left Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 6.889/192.80, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.965/189.79, Was #9
Right Lane: Mike Berry Runs 6.942/189.71, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.005/185.08, Was #16

Berry pushed his way into the top 12 with a nice ride down the groove. Ellis also had a good run and moved up into the number three spot in the order for now. Shawn Gann is on the bump spot at 6.981.

Left Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.882/194.97, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.909/193.82, Was #5
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.943/192.19, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.990/187.68, Was #14

Stoffer moved up three spots, into the number two position. Smith went from out of the field to the number eight spot in the order for now. Hector Arana Jr is on the bump spot at 6.981.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.879/192.93, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.892/192.38, Was #5
Right Lane: Gerald Savoie Runs 6.836/192.74, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.957/190.92, Was #11

A pair of good runs put Savoie at the top of the order and Arana in the third position. Hector Arana Jr is on the bump spot at 6.981.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.841/195.39, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.854/194.27, Was #2
Right Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 6.893/190.83, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.956/189.44, Was #11

Tonglet got into the field with a ride down the groove. Krawiec was quicker than this afternoon, but not quick enough to change his place in the order.
