NORWALK, Ohio -- With the 2011 Nitro Jam season quickly approaching, the International Hot Rod Association announced today its full schedule of which classes will be contested at each Nitro Jam event throughout the season.

In all six of the Nitro Jam events will feature the full contingent of IHRA classes, in addition to both 40th anniversary Sportsman Spectacular events set to be held at Maryland International Raceway and Virginia Motorsports Park later in the year.

In addition to the regular IHRA sportsman program, ET cars will be featured at every Nitro Jam event this season, while competitors in the junior dragster ranks will compete at all but one event.

Beginning with the first two events of the year, Palm Beach International Raceway the weekend of January 28-29 and State Capitol Raceway the weekend of February 19-20, both races will feature a full sportsman program with all seven IHRA classes plus ET. Junior Dragsters will be contested for the first time ever at the second race of the year in Louisiana.

The third Nitro Jam of the season at Tucson's Southwestern International Raceway the weekend of March 25-26 will feature ET and Junior Dragsters only, along with the event at Pittsburgh Raceway Park the weekend of May 20-21.

The only other variation to the usual racing schedule will take place at Salt Lake City's Rocky Mountain Raceways as only Top Sportsman and Top Dragster will be contested at that event, along with ET and Junior Dragsters.

San Antonio Raceway (April 1-2), Castrol Raceway (June 24-26), Grand Bend Motorplex (July 16-17) and U.S. 131 Motorsports Park (August 12-13) will all feature the usual IHRA sportsman program plus ET and Junior Dragsters.
