K&N Filters Horsepower Challenge award ($3,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock) -
Allen Johnson, Greeneville, Tenn., Team Mopar/J&J Racing Dodge Avenger, 6.551 seconds, 211.43 mph.
Best Engineered Vehicle - John Larsen, Super Gas entry, South Jordan, Utah
NHRA Best Appearing Bike - Eddie Krawiec, Screamin' Eagle Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Pro
Stock Motorcycle entry, Englishtown, N.J.
NHRA Best Appearing Crew - Allen Wade crew, Super Stock entry, Rochester, Ind.
Perfectly Strange Awards:
Super Stock: Bo Butner, Floyds Knobs, Ind.
Stock Eliminator: John Shaul, Fultonham, N.Y.
Super Comp: Andrew Madrid, Chatsworth, Calif.
Super Gas: Jimmy Lewis, Forney, Texas
Full Throttle Hard-Working Crew Award ($3,000 each to Top Fuel and Funny Car, $1,500 to Pro
Stock and $750 to Pro Stock Motorcycle for the crews that are recognized as the hardest working of
the event):
Top Fuel: Morgan Lucas Racing for Morgan Lucas making the semifinal round and Shawn Langdon
making it to the final round.
Funny Car: Bob Tasca for beating Matt Hagan in the first round of eliminations to help
fellow Ford driver John Force secure his 15th world championship.
Pro Stock: Shane Gray for making it to his third final round of the year in just his first
season of competition.
Pro Stock Motorcycle: Hector Arana for overcoming the troubles he had to make it to the
final round.
