By Larry Sullivan

POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 46th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Rhett Lougheed Runs 7.250/177.58, Now #13; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Aaron Pine Runs 8.001/172.98, Now #14; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 26 percent, barometer 29.05 inches, adjusted altitude 2,223 feet, track temperature 88 degrees.

The top twelve through yesterday got to keep their times, the rest start over today.

Left Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 7.273/175.50, Now #14; No Prior Run

Harris appeared to have a problem at an early shift point.

Left Lane: Chris MacLaurin Runs 7.213/181.28, Now #14; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Katie Sullivan Runs 7.146/183.54, Now #13; No Prior Run

Scotty Pollacheck is now on the bump spot at 7.273. Both riders made their best runs of the weekend, Sullivan's might hold up, MacLaurin's probably won't.

Left Lane: Bailey Whitaker Runs 7.238/156.57, Now #16; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.142/185.23, Now #13; No Prior Run

Whitaker got in, but on the bump spot.

Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.275/175.02, Now #20; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.045/186.46, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.958/192.03, Was #8

Treble failed to improve and Berry came up well short of the bump time.

Left Lane: David Hope Runs 7.098/182.97, Now #14; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Matt Guidera Runs 7.002/188.54, Now #13; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 73 degrees, relative humidity 21 percent, barometer 29.02 inches, adjusted altitude 2,311 feet, track temperature 92 degrees.

Both got in, but the numbers are a little disappointing.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.032/187.65, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.996/188.57, Was #12
Right Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 6.986/190.06, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.984/187.52, Was #11

Apparently conditions are not quite as good as they were yesterday - that's only the second six so far in this session.

Left Lane: Angie Smith Runs 7.208/178.52, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.968/187.03, Was #10
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.921/191.46, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.896/189.52, Was #4

Smith's bike was off the pace from the start. Smith made the quickest pass so far, not quite as quick as his run Thursday, but better than his run yesterday.

Left Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.980/184.52, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.966/187.86, Was #9
Right Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 6.894/194.86, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.938/190.38, Was #5

Underdahl and Stoffer are the first six-second runners to step up today, Underdahl running top speed of the weekend.

Left Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 7.071/185.18, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.943/189.31, Was #6
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.935/190.65, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.874/193.24, Was #3

Tonglet had a bad run and won't get any bonus points, but Hines made the third-quickest run of the session and might earn one more point.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.905/192.60, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.865/194.21, Was #1
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.883/192.96, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.870/194.35, Was #2

Both riders were quicker than Hines, so the points gap between the two championship contenders stays at 37.
