POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 46th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Bob Glidden Runs 6.666/207.34, Now #1

1:51 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 73 degrees, relative humidity 24 percent, barometer 29.07 inches, adjusted altitude 2,232 feet, track temperature 96 degrees.

Funny car burnout for Glidden on his single to start the session.

A career best ET and MPH to set a strong mark for the rest of the field. Strong 1.005 sixty foot time.

Bye's incremental times: 60ft-99.999 sec., 330ft-99.999, 660ft-99.999/000.00 mph, 1,000ft-99.999.


Left Lane: Gordie Rivera No Time, Now #3
Right Lane: Dave Connolly Runs 6.615/209.23, Now #1

Rivera leaves before the green and will not get an ET.

Strong pass for Connolly in the MAV-TV Cobalt.

Dave Connolly's incremental times: 60ft-0.992 sec., 330ft-2.780, 660ft-4.261/166.52 mph, 1,000ft-5.538.

Left Lane: Erica Enders Runs 15.088/56.26, Now #4
Right Lane: Vinnie Deceglie Runs 6.572/210.67, Now #1

Enders shakes and falls back. She must have broken something, as the car just makes the turnout.

A good looking pass for the Mountain View Avenger with near career best performance to take the new top spot.

Left Lane: Ronnie Humphrey Runs 6.570/211.26, Now #1
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.834/207.18, Now #5

Morgans Mustang moves out of the groove and towards the wall and he drives it on through.

Big MPH for Humphrey on a great looking pass into the top spot.

Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.694/209.49, Now #6

Johnson's car is all over the track at the green with big left and right moves down the track.

Strong pass for Yonke, well into the current top half of the field.

Warren Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.011 sec., 330ft-2.839, 660ft-4.335/165.25 mph, 1,000ft-5.617.

Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.616/209.82, Now #5
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 14.605/59.14, Now #9

In near a rerun of Johnson, Gaines' Avenger moves hard off the line towards the wall. He gives up early and motors on down.

Clean pass for Johnson.

Kurt Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.997 sec., 330ft-2.782, 660ft-4.264/166.15 mph, 1,000ft-5.540.

Left Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 13.970/59.28, Now #10
Right Lane: Johnny Gray Runs 6.638/208.97, Now #6

It's the left lane this time, as Brogdon's GXP almost crosses the centerline right off the line.

Clean pass for Gray to tune to tomorrow.

Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.569/210.60, Now #1
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.788/207.56, Now #10

Almost two clean and straight passes this time, with Coughlin moving around just a little down low.

Krisher has the launch down right and moves into the new #1 spot on a great looking pass.

Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.890, 660ft-4.407/163.77 mph, 1,000ft-5.701.

Left Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.563/209.88, Now #1
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 12.417/70.91, Now #13

Rodger Brogdon is on the bump spot at 13.970.

Another broken pass in the right lane and it's Johnson's Avenger this time.

Gray misses a career best by 0.002 and shoot up into the number one position.

Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.975 sec., 330ft-2.745, 660ft-4.219/167.24 mph, 1,000ft-5.490.
Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.002 sec., 330ft-3.351, 660ft-6.270/076.09 mph, 1,000ft-9.383.

Left Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.561/211.16, Now #1
Right Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.610/210.05, Now #7

Larry Morgan is on the bump spot at 6.834.

Line uses a lot of track down low and Stanfield makes the right lane look easy.

Line takes the new top spot and Stanfield goes into the top half of the field.

Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.759, 660ft-4.227/167.76 mph, 1,000ft-5.494.
Greg Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-1.005 sec., 330ft-2.787, 660ft-4.265/166.95 mph, 1,000ft-5.537.

Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.576/210.67, Now #7
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.563/211.20, Now #2

Warren Johnson is on the bump spot at 6.694.

Last pair of the session and the two top spots in the 2010 Championship chase.

Both cars make it look easy and Anderson improves his points lead with a strong pass that matches Shane Gray's ET, but with a better MPH, into the final number two spot of the session.

Edwards is stronger down low, but can't match the Summit car's pace down the track.

Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-0.980 sec., 330ft-2.762, 660ft-4.237/167.30 mph, 1,000ft-5.506.
Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.992 sec., 330ft-2.761, 660ft-4.230/167.63 mph, 1,000ft-5.496.

2:23 p.m. Jason Line is Johnny Gray is on the bump spot at 6.638.
