Pro Modified Round 1 Eliminations

LAS VEGAS - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Modified at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 10th annual NHRA Las Vegas Nationals:

Weather conditions: air temperature 63 degrees, relative humidity 38 percent, barometer 28.02 inches, adjusted altitude 2,873 feet, track temperature 71 degrees.

This is the first time Rowe and Commisso have faced each other in eliminations. Rowe turns on the red light and Commisso takes the easy win.

Lang is 1 - 0 against Burgess in prior events. Lang with the starting line advantage, but has a lot tire shake and Burgess has the difference made up by the time they go by the Christmas tree.

Smith is 1 - 0 against Knowles in prior events. Knowles with the starting line advantage and the lead until around 400 feet when Smith blasted by him. Smith takes the win and he wins the inaugural Get Screened America Pro Mod Series championship.

Musi is 1 - 0 against Coughlin in prior events. Musi with the starting line advantage and then had a lot of the tire shake, and coughlin was able to chase him down for the win.

This is the first time Stivers and Hoover have faced each other in eliminations. They left together and he never was behind for the win. He was just a tick off his qualifying time. Hoover with his quickest pass of the weekend in a losing effort. Stivers will have lane choice over Coughlin in the next round.

This is the first time Payne and Radford have faced each other in eliminations. Radford with the starting line advantage and then problems and clicks it off early. Payne was out of the groove early and got real close to the wall before he reeled it in. Payne will give up lane choice to Smith in the next round.

She will have lane choice over Commisso in the next round. Melanie Troxel's incremental times: 60ft-0.981 sec., 330ft-2.610, 660ft-3.898/193.46 mph, 1,000ft-4.983.
