DePalma gets the holeshot and the win but will take a big hit to his index.

Coughlin breaksright off the line and rolls to a stop at half-track. Giroux has problems about 100 feet out and backs off the throttle. He gets back on the throttle about 300 feet out and smoke starts coming from the exhaust.
