Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #1

LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 10th annual NHRA Las Vegas Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Richard Freeman Runs 21.750/30.41, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 71 degrees, relative humidity 24 percent, barometer 27.96 inches, adjusted altitude 3,449 feet, track temperature 94 degrees.

Freeman making his NHRA Pro Stock debut...Freeman make a quick move toward the wall and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Steve Kalkowski Runs 9.471/98.11, Now #2
Right Lane: Bob Glidden Runs 6.799/203.52, Now #1

Kalkowski with a lot of shake and shut it off. Glidden was straight down the groove. Bob Glidden's incremental times: 60ft-1.033 sec., 330ft-2.861, 660ft-4.382/161.98 mph, 1,000ft-5.693.

Left Lane: Gordie Rivera Runs 6.907/201.61, Now #3
Right Lane: Dave Connolly Runs 6.708/206.64, Now #1

Rivera was straight down the groove...Connolly launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Dave Connolly's incremental times: 60ft-1.018 sec., 330ft-2.823, 660ft-4.324/163.97 mph, 1,000ft-5.617.

Left Lane: Erica Enders Runs 12.678/89.26, Now #6
Right Lane: Vinnie Deceglie Runs 6.727/206.23, Now #2

Enders shook right off the starting line and shut off. Deceglie with a real nice pass to go to the number two spot. Vinnie Deceglie's incremental times: 60ft-1.008 sec., 330ft-2.822, 660ft-4.333/162.92 mph, 1,000ft-5.632.

Left Lane: Ronnie Humphrey Runs 6.709/205.60, Now #2
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.873/204.29, Now #5

All the ronnie Humphrey crew along with the Greg Anderson and Jason Line crews have t-shirts on that say Welcome Back Ken referring to the fack Ken Black is out at the track this weekend. Humphrey with a real nice pass to go to the number two spot. Ronnie Humphrey's incremental times: 60ft-1.005 sec., 330ft-2.811, 660ft-4.317/163.35 mph, 1,000ft-5.614. Morgan with a good clean pass to start the weekend. Larry Morgan's incremental times: 60ft-1.024 sec., 330ft-2.924, 660ft-4.457/161.23 mph, 1,000ft-5.769.

Left Lane: Bob Yonke Runs 6.761/204.48, Now #5
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.721/205.91, Now #3

Johnson with a real nice pass...Warren Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.005 sec., 330ft-2.817, 660ft-4.326/163.41 mph, 1,000ft-5.626. Yonke with a clean pass to start the weekend. Bob Yonke's incremental times: 60ft-1.011 sec., 330ft-2.832, 660ft-4.351/162.41 mph, 1,000ft-5.659.

Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.740/205.57, Now #5
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 18.323/62.25, Now #12

Gaines with problems right off the starting line and pushes in the clutch. Johnson with a nice pass to get in the top half of the show.

Left Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.670/206.01, Now #1
Right Lane: Johnny Gray Runs 6.747/204.88, Now #7

Kurt Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.015 sec., 330ft-2.829, 660ft-4.340/162.92 mph, 1,000ft-5.642.

Brogdon launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Rodger Brogdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.990 sec., 330ft-2.785, 660ft-4.285/164.13 mph, 1,000ft-5.578. Gray with a good pass...Johnny Gray's incremental times: 60ft-1.007 sec., 330ft-2.827, 660ft-4.344/162.31 mph, 1,000ft-5.648.

Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.730/206.23, Now #7
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.699/206.01, Now #2

Coughlin with a real nice pass to go to the number two spot. Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-1.006 sec., 330ft-2.810, 660ft-4.313/163.87 mph, 1,000ft-5.608. Krisher with a good pass to go to the number seven...Ron Krisher's incremental times: 60ft-1.025 sec., 330ft-2.837, 660ft-4.342/163.53 mph, 1,000ft-5.638.

Left Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.690/205.91, Now #3
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.671/207.08, Now #2

Johnson made a quick move to the wall, but reeled it in to go to the number two spot. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.791, 660ft-4.292/163.95 mph, 1,000ft-5.584. Gray was right there with him to go to the number three spot. Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.998 sec., 330ft-2.798, 660ft-4.300/163.91 mph, 1,000ft-5.596.

Left Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.678/206.54, Now #3
Right Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.723/205.85, Now #9

Line with a real nice pass to start the weekend...Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-1.001 sec., 330ft-2.797, 660ft-4.296/164.21 mph, 1,000ft-5.588. Stanfield was straight down the groove. Greg Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-1.015 sec., 330ft-2.822, 660ft-4.330/163.33 mph, 1,000ft-5.628.

Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.667/206.42, Now #1
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.693/206.95, Now #6

Edwards with the quickest 60-foot time and parleyed that into the number one spot. Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-0.986 sec., 330ft-2.784, 660ft-4.285/164.07 mph, 1,000ft-5.577. Anderson gets into the top half of the show...Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-1.013 sec., 330ft-2.815, 660ft-4.313/164.39 mph, 1,000ft-5.604.
