Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #1

LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 10th annual NHRA Las Vegas Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Rhett Lougheed Runs 7.300/180.28, Now #1

12:23 p.m. 12:21 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 22 percent, barometer 27.99 inches, adjusted altitude 3,509 feet, track temperature 96 degrees.

Lougheed drifts toward the centerline early in the pass but is able to keep it oof the centerline.

Left Lane: Dawn Matthews-Baugues Runs 8.033/145.66, Now #3
Right Lane: Matt Guidera Runs 7.137/186.59, Now #1

Left Lane: Chris MacLaurin Runs 7.303/178.28, Now #4
Right Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 7.281/182.38, Now #2

Left Lane: Bailey Whitaker Runs 7.088/186.28, Now #1
Right Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.357/182.67, Now #6

Whitaker makes a clean, straight run to take the early pole.

Left Lane: James Surber Runs 7.266/185.36, Now #3
Right Lane: Katie Sullivan No Time, Now #9

Surber makes a move to the right quickly but is able to get the bike under control. Sullivan had problems right off the line and came to a stop about 600 feet out.

Left Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.127/185.00, Now #2
Right Lane: Redell Harris Runs 7.273/185.51, Now #5

Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 8.057/120.25, Now #11
Right Lane: Shawn Gann No Time, Now #13

Gann shuts off before he stages, not sure why. Berry has problems around half track and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Angie Smith Runs 7.034/186.48, Now #2
Right Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 7.016/190.89, Now #1

A couple of good looking passes, the quickest of the round so far.

Left Lane: David Hope Runs 7.139/186.10, Now #7
Right Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.034/189.36, Now #2

Treble matches Smith's time but takes the second spot with the faster speed.

Left Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 7.014/188.81, Now #1
Right Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.030/190.92, Now #3

Stoffer makes a clean pass and takes the top spot for now.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.157/188.60, Now #11
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.929/192.30, Now #1

Arana makes an impressive run and takes the top spot by a tenth.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 15.016/49.64, Now #21
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.963/194.13, Now #2

Smith has problems early and clicks it off. Krawiec makes the second quickest pass of the session so far.

Left Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 7.217/160.79, Now #14
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 7.002/192.19, Now #3

Tonglet spins the tires off the line and isn't able to challenge Arana for the top spot. Hines makes a decent pass but is still off of Arana's pace.
