Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #1

MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 26th annual Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Mark Martino Runs 6.653/206.86, Now #1
Right Lane: Bob Glidden Runs 7.238/150.15, Now #2

Glidden pushed in the clutch early...Martino with a nice pass to start the weekend. Mark Martino's incremental times: 60ft-0.997 sec., 330ft-2.787, 660ft-4.279/165.01 mph, 1,000ft-5.566.

Left Lane: Vincent Nobile No Time, Now #4
Right Lane: Dave Connolly Runs 6.639/207.94, Now #1

Nobile was timed out on the starting line. connolly launched with a great looking pass...Dave Connolly's incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.785, 660ft-4.274/165.11 mph, 1,000ft-5.558.

Left Lane: Bob Benza Runs 13.656/61.68, Now #4
Right Lane: John Gaydosh Jr No Time, Now #6

Gaydosh Jr. broke on the burnout...Benza with violent tire shake and pushed in the clutch.

Left Lane: Erica Enders Runs 13.205/64.23, Now #5
Right Lane: Steve Spiess Runs 6.681/190.46, Now #3

Enders with problems early and pushed in the clutch. Spiess with a nice pass to start the weekend. Steve Spiess' incremental times: 60ft-0.990 sec., 330ft-2.780, 660ft-4.269/165.42 mph, 1,000ft-5.552.

Left Lane: Ronnie Humphrey Runs 6.579/209.95, Now #1
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.609/209.10, Now #2

This was a great side-by-side drag race with Humphrey going to the number one spot. Humphrey sets the track record. Ronnie Humphrey's incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.757, 660ft-4.234/166.79 mph, 1,000ft-5.506. Morgan was right there with him and he goes to the number two spot. Larry Morgan's incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.772, 660ft-4.253/166.46 mph, 1,000ft-5.531.

Left Lane: Bob Yonke Runs 6.640/207.72, Now #4
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.655/209.17, Now #6

Yonke running the Nitro Fish colors this weekend...he goes to the number four spot. Bob Yonke's incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-2.777, 660ft-4.269/165.05 mph, 1,000ft-5.554. Johnson gets into the top half of the show. Warren Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.013 sec., 330ft-2.806, 660ft-4.295/165.56 mph, 1,000ft-5.577.

Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.557/210.18, Now #1
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.627/208.42, Now #4

Gaines launched hard and keep it hooked up with a great pass...Gaines set the track E.T. record here. V. Gaines' incremental times: 60ft-0.976 sec., 330ft-2.746, 660ft-4.218/167.14 mph, 1,000ft-5.486. Johnson with a nice pass to get into the top half of the show.

Left Lane: Johnny Gray Runs 6.575/210.05, Now #3
Right Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.565/209.72, Now #2

This was a great side-by-side drag race and these two go to the number two and three spots. Johnny Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.754, 660ft-4.231/166.50 mph, 1,000ft-5.502.
Rodger Brogdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.973 sec., 330ft-2.743, 660ft-4.218/167.07 mph, 1,000ft-5.492.

Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.578/210.14, Now #4
Right Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.609/208.91, Now #7

Krisher gets into the top half of the show...Ron Krisher's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.759, 660ft-4.235/166.95 mph, 1,000ft-5.506. Gray with a nice pass to start the weekend. Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.986 sec., 330ft-2.767, 660ft-4.250/166.21 mph, 1,000ft-5.529.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.588/209.56, Now #7
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.568/210.08, Now #3

Line with a great pass to start the weekend...Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.751, 660ft-4.224/166.93 mph, 1,000ft-5.496. Coughlin with a nice pass to start the weekend...Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.978 sec., 330ft-2.758, 660ft-4.237/166.60 mph, 1,000ft-5.513.

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 10.449/86.09, Now #18
Right Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.604/208.94, Now #8

Johnson with a lot of tire shake right off the starting line and pushed in the clutch. Stanfield with a nice pass...Greg Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.980 sec., 330ft-2.758, 660ft-4.242/165.80 mph, 1,000ft-5.523.

Left Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 12.577/68.80, Now #20
Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.564/210.54, Now #2

Anderson with problems right off the starting line and clicked it off. Edwards with a great looking pass to go to the number two spot. Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-0.971 sec., 330ft-2.743, 660ft-4.219/166.79 mph, 1,000ft-5.492.
