BRAINERD, Minn. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 29th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Scott Palmer Runs 8.046/87.69, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.493/126.73, Was #14
Right Lane: Terry Haddock Runs 3.954/298.54, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.286/107.39, Was #16

Palmer is up in smoke right off the starting line and clicks it off. Haddock is straight down the groove with a good clean pass...Terry Haddock's incremental times: 60ft-0.853 sec., 330ft-2.206, 660ft-3.154/267.64 mph.

Left Lane: Steven Chrisman Runs 4.241/272.61, Now #12; Best prior run: 4.157/276.41, Was #11
Right Lane: Terry McMillen Runs 3.994/298.47, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.412/125.52, Was #14

McMillen with his quickest pass of the weekend and he moves up the ladder three spots. Terry McMillen's incremental times: 60ft-0.869 sec., 330ft-2.239, 660ft-3.191/267.59 mph. No help here for Chrisman...Steven Chrisman's incremental times: 60ft-0.891 sec., 330ft-2.305, 660ft-3.353/239.23 mph.

Left Lane: Morgan Lucas Runs 6.071/104.71, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.927/305.01, Was #9
Right Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 4.358/219.65, Now #13; Best prior run: 4.600/163.41, Was #14

They both start to lose traction around 200 feet and Lucas clicks it off and Torrence pedals it. Torrence with his quickest pass of the weekend to move up the ladder one spot. Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.856 sec., 330ft-2.234, 660ft-3.354/226.28 mph.

Left Lane: David Grubnic Runs 6.846/84.55, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.916/302.69, Was #7
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 4.585/167.66, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.923/302.62, Was #8

Grubnic is up in smoke early and clicks it off. Brown starts to haze the tires and then pitches the blower belt off.

Left Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 3.922/286.98, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.888/300.73, Was #6
Right Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 3.924/300.26, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.881/305.70, Was #5

These two are side-by-side all the way through the 1000 feet. Tony Schumacher's incremental times: 60ft-0.833 sec., 330ft-2.168, 660ft-3.112/268.33 mph.
Shawn Langdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.854 sec., 330ft-2.198, 660ft-3.128/272.01 mph.

Right Lane: Larry Dixon Runs 3.861/298.80, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.863/310.48, Was #4

Bernstein starts to smoke the tires just past the 330-foot mark. dixon was on a good pass until right in the lights when the engine let go...Larry Dixon's incremental times: 60ft-0.836 sec., 330ft-2.159, 660ft-3.079/277.49 mph.

Left Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 3.894/304.19, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.842/305.49, Was #1
Right Lane: Cory McClenathan Runs 4.547/169.49, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.848/307.51, Was #3

McClenathan starts to haze the tires around the 660-foot mark and clicks it off. Kalitta with another great pass and he hold on to the number one spot. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.834 sec., 330ft-2.161, 660ft-3.101/268.38 mph. This is 30th time he has qualified number one.
