SONOMA, Calif. -- Special awards from the 23rd annual FRAM-Autolite NHRA Nationals.

K&N Filters Horsepower Challenge award ($3,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock) - Allen Johnson, Greeneville, Tenn., Team Mopar Dodge Avenger, 6.545, seconds, 210.77 mph.

NHRA Best Appearing Car - Bryan LaFlam, '63 Corvette Top Sportsman entry, Gilbert, Ariz.

NHRA Best Appearing Crew - CEO Racing Dodge Stratus Top Sportsman entry. Driver: Craig Olson

NHRA Best Engineered Car - Coffman Tank Trucks Buell Pro Stock Motorcycle entry. Rider: GT Tonglet

Perfectly Strange Awards:
Super Stock: No winner
Stock Eliminator: Toby Lang, Auburn, Wash.
Super Comp: David Myhre, Sheridan, Calif.
Super Gas: Marv Wiebe, Abbotsford, British Columbia

Full Throttle Hard-Working Crew Award ($3,000 each to Top Fuel and Funny Car, $1,500 to Pro Stock and $750 to Pro Stock Motorcycle for the crews that are recognized as the hardest working of the event):
Top Fuel: Terry McMillen crew for winning the first round and moving back in to Countdown to 1 contention.
Funny Car: Jack Beckman crew for earning the No. 1 qualifying position with a track record run and advancing to the final round.
Pro Stock: Jason Line crew for advancing to the final round in Pro Stock since adding tuner Tommy Utt to the team.
Pro Stock Motorcycle: Michael Phillips crew for running the fastest Pro Stock Motorcycle speed in NHRA history.
