Kalitta is 9 - 7 against Lucas in prior events. Lucas with the starting line advantage, but then haze the tires just before half track. Kalitta was straight down the groove with a good clean pass for the win. Bernstein clinched a spot in the Countdown to 1 with Lucas losing here.

McClenathan is 16 - 11 against Grubnic in prior events. Grubnic with the starting line advantage, but McClenathan was able to chase him down at 660 feet. Cory McClenathan's MOV: 0.0302 seconds (approximately 13 feet).

Schumacher is 10 - 7 against Brown in prior events. They leave together and then Schumacher starts to haze the tire around half track. He tries to drive through it, but continues to smoke them. Brown then starts to haze the tires on the top end, but stays with it for the win light. Brown will give up lane choice to Kalitta in the semifinal.
