Rizzoli gets a big lead off the line and holds Niver off until after the 1000 foot lights. Niver has the HP and just gets on by for the narrow win.

Cowie is 1 - 0 against Force in prior events and adds another one to the score.

He marches away at the green and thunders down the track on a terrific looking pass to run the best ET of the weekend.

He definitely have lane choice over Niver in round three.

This is the first time Austin and Demke have faced each other in eliminations. Federlin, owner and crew chief on Demke's Peen-Rite dragster, injured his Achilles tendon earlier and has been hobbling around all weekend. It doesn't seem to have impaired his tuning skills.

Winner gets the Bye Run to the finals!

Austin takes a big guess on the green and wins with a 0.004 RT and is able to hold off the charging Demke most of the way to the finish line. They are dead even at 1000 feet and Demke sneaks on by for the narrow win. Almost an upset.
