KENT, Wash. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 23rd annual NHRA Northwest Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Mike Strasburg Runs 4.472/188.67, Now #2
Right Lane: Steven Chrisman Runs 4.251/241.02, Now #1

Strasburg was dropping some cylinders on the top end and then the engine went silent. Chrisman with a clean pass...Steven Chrisman's incremental times: 60ft-0.919 sec., 330ft-2.312, 660ft-3.334/246.26 mph.

Right Lane: David Grubnic Runs 4.432/181.94, Now #2

Grubnic is dropping cylinders as soon as he hit the throttle and then clicks it off early.

Left Lane: Terry McMillen Runs 4.961/146.81, Now #4
Right Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 9.121/77.56, Now #5

Torrence with a new look this weekend...he is up in smoke as soon as he hits the throttle. McMillen was of the throttle by half track.

Left Lane: Morgan Lucas Runs 4.459/252.76, Now #3
Right Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 4.715/158.73, Now #5

Weather conditions: air temperature 91 degrees, relative humidity 35 percent, barometer 29.60 inches, adjusted altitude 3,086 feet, track temperature 131 degrees.

Lucas began to smoke the tires first and pedaled it...Langdon made it a little farther down track before he smoked the tires.

Left Lane: Brandon Bernstein Runs 4.062/275.39, Now #1
Right Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 4.142/231.68, Now #2

Kalitta was dropping cylinders early, but stayed with it. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.865 sec., 330ft-2.222, 660ft-3.205/255.10 mph. Bernstein was on real nice pass until on the top end when the engine started eating itself up with a lot fire out of the engine. Brandon Bernstein's incremental times: 60ft-0.845 sec., 330ft-2.189, 660ft-3.196/247.20 mph.

Left Lane: Antron Brown Runs 4.051/294.75, Now #1
Right Lane: Cory McClenathan Runs 4.677/164.15, Now #8

Brown is straight down the groove with no tire smoke to go the number one spot. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.859 sec., 330ft-2.238, 660ft-3.227/256.41 mph. McClenathan started to haze the tires and then it appeared to lift the blower around half track.

Left Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 3.979/299.93, Now #1
Right Lane: Larry Dixon Runs 4.141/222.84, Now #4

These two were together until around 800 feet when Dixon started to haze the tires. Schumacher is straight down the groove for the number one spot. Tony Schumacher's incremental times: 60ft-0.844 sec., 330ft-2.204, 660ft-3.171/263.46 mph. Larry Dixon's incremental times: 60ft-0.847 sec., 330ft-2.191, 660ft-3.167/250.97 mph.
