The scheduled Stock and Super Gas second sessions have been delayed until after the Pro's have completed their second sessions this evening.
Left Lane: Jim Peters Runs 5.903/241.80, Now #2 Right Lane: John Evanchuk Runs 5.766/247.70, Now #1 Peters is in an Impala with a neat looking new paint job. Nice clean pass for Evanchuk, almost a season best ET and MPH. Peters is second off the line and follows him down with a season best ET and MPH. We look to be short on cars, so there may not be a bump spot this session. Left Lane: Ken Webster Runs 5.783/252.14, Now #2 Right Lane: Sean Bellemeur Runs 5.937/244.21, Now #4 Webster was number two in Division Six in 2009 and slides into the new number two spot with numbers close to Evanchuk. Bellemeur was off the line first, but can't match the pace. He will settle for the #4 spot for now. Left Lane: Larry Miner Runs 5.813/251.49, Now #4 Right Lane: Jeff Ashwell Runs 5.797/245.14, Now #3 Minor gets a big lead over Ashwell at the green stays in front to the finish line, but Ashwell has the better tune up to move into the current #3 position. Larry Miner's incremental times: 60ft-0.968 sec., 330ft-2.596, 660ft-3.855/197.94 mph, 1,000ft-4.917. Jeff Ashwell's incremental times: 60ft-0.975 sec., 330ft-2.549, 660ft-3.804/197.33 mph, 1,000ft-4.881. Left Lane: Steve Gasparrelli Runs 5.740/254.28, Now #1 Right Lane: Brian Hough Runs 5.877/204.79, Now #6 Hooray! We just got the ESPN TV feed into the press cave. Hough takes a guess at the green and cuts a 0.001 light, but to no avail as he slows with a puff of smoke from the engine down track. Gasparrelli cards the first sub-nine sixty 60 foot time and marches to the finish line to take over the new top spot by a couple of hundredths. The NHRA guys are over the wall taking a close look at the right lane, but it looks to be dry. Left Lane: Doug Gordon Runs 16.059/59.38, Now #11 Right Lane: Clint Thompson Runs 7.308/133.63, Now #10 Not a lot of fun for either driver. Gordon is up in smoke right off the line and lifts. Thompson gets a little further down track and then starts slapping the load pedal several times before giving it up as a bad idea. Clint Thompson's incremental times: 60ft-0.974 sec., 330ft-2.623, 660ft-4.109/149.55 mph, 1,000ft-5.713. Left Lane: Sean O'Bannon Runs 5.729/255.48, Now #2 Right Lane: John Lombardo Jr. Runs 5.681/248.52, Now #1 Two of the best cars on the West Coast come to the line to wrap up the session. Good ol' side by side passes to reset the two top spots. O'Bannon gets a small lead off the line, but Lombardo has the beans to drive on by and stay there to capture the final top spot of the session.
