Skies are Clearing!

NORWALK, Ohio - The forth annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at the Summit Motorsports Park in
Norwalk, OhioToday's activities have been temporally suspended, as the expected rain
arrived in torrents for ten to fifteen minutes, before tapering off. Currently it's only a sprinkle
and NHRA has started to push the standing water off the starting line.
The final qualifying session for Funny Car had already seen seven of the seventeen competitors make
their passes before the track became too damp to continue. Tasca and Wilkerson were scheduled to
come up next, but starter Rick Stewart determined that the light mist wasn't safe for them to run
in. Shortly after that, the skies opened up and drenched the track with heavy rains briefly.
There hasn't been an announcement on when racing is expected to continue, but we will post updates
as information becomes available.
