Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #3
By David Gerard

NORWALK, Ohio - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, Fourth annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 7.005/190.75, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.982/192.71, Was #7

12:18 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 78 degrees, relative humidity 61 percent, barometer 28.95 inches, adjusted altitude 3,187 feet, track temperature 98 degrees.

When's the last time you saw Krawiec as the first bike out in Q3?

He makes a safe pass to check everything out and stays #7. There won't likely be a lot of improvements in the top half of the field in the heat of the day.

Eddie Krawiec's incremental times: 60ft-1.089 sec., 330ft-2.932, 660ft-4.478/158.13 mph, 1,000ft-5.834.

Left Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.189/185.00, Now #13; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Junior Pippin No Time, Now #15; No Prior Run

Pippin is a No Show.

Wells finds some power and improves from yesterday's times, but it may not be good enough.

Left Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 6.999/191.92, Now #9; Best prior run: 7.047/191.46, Was #11
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.957/189.68, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.974/191.24, Was #6

So, I was wrong about top half of the field improvements...

Smith makes a stong pass with a 1.06 sixty foot time and moves three spots up the ladder into the new #3 spot.

Phillips dips into the sixes and gets two spots on the field.

Michael Phillips' incremental times: 60ft-1.091 sec., 330ft-2.925, 660ft-4.475/157.43 mph, 1,000ft-5.833.
Matt Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.062 sec., 330ft-2.878, 660ft-4.424/157.82 mph, 1,000ft-5.782.

Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.248/179.14, Now #15; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.204/184.98, Now #14; No Prior Run

Berry improves from yesterday's best, but DeSantis can't.

Both bikes are in the bottom of the field for now.

Mike Berry's incremental times: 60ft-1.124 sec., 330ft-2.990, 660ft-4.586/152.76 mph, 1,000ft-6.006.
Joe DeSantis' incremental times: 60ft-1.169 sec., 330ft-3.024, 660ft-4.603/154.63 mph, 1,000ft-5.996.

Gann slows to stay #12.

David Hope's incremental times: 60ft-1.058 sec., 330ft-2.884, 660ft-4.435/157.71 mph, 1,000ft-5.797.
Shawn Gann's incremental times: 60ft-1.087 sec., 330ft-2.921, 660ft-4.485/155.79 mph, 1,000ft-5.865.
