BRISTOL, Tenn. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Modified at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 10th annual NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals:

4:41 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 88 degrees, relative humidity 45 percent, barometer 28.45 inches, adjusted altitude 4,372 feet, track temperature 133 degrees.

Coughlin gets out of the gate first and starts to pull away. Commisso reels him in before they reach the 330 foot mark, then drives around and pulls away for the win.

Burgess leaves a little too soon, then gets to half-track and gets out of the groove. Hoover gets out of the groove early, backs off the throttle, then gets back on it around half-track.

Janis drifts a little to the left early, then starts moving around a little, getting close to the wall about 1000 feet down. Ray goes right down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend to take the win.

Smith gets a great move off the line, then Pontieri starts to make up ground. Pontieri makes his quickest pass of the weekend but can't make up the difference on the line.

Smith gets out of the groove early and makes a move to the left. He fights to get it back in the groove, then makes another hard move and crosses the center line just past half-track. Stivers makes a nice pass for the win.

Lang gets out of the gate first then makes his quickest pass of the weekend to take the win. Rowe makes a decent pass but not up to his qualifying standards.

Personett gets a little advantage off the line, then Payne drives around him quickly and extends his lead all the way through the run.

Castellana gets the hole-shot and pulls away for the win with the quickest pass of the session.

In the next round it will be Castellana with lane choice over Commisso, Smith vs. Stivers, Payne vs. Hoover, and Ray vs. Lang.
