Payne is 4 - 3 against Bateman in prior events. This is a great side-by-side drag race. They left together and Payne was increasing his lead at ever increment until right in the lights when it went bang. Jay Payne's MOV: 0.0048 seconds (approximately 21 inches).

Henry with the slight starting line advantage, but Ferro has the difference made up by the time they go by the Christmas tree. He will have lane choice over Lombardo Jr. in the semifinal.

Manzo is 6 - 2 against Gill in prior events. Gill was real late, and then has problems and clicks it off. Manzo with the quickest pass of the weekend for the win. Frank Manzo's incremental times: 60ft-0.931 sec., 330ft-2.442, 660ft-3.624/210.28 mph, 1,000ft-4.633.
