Bartone banged the burst panel and the chutes automatically deployed and Bartone will not qualify for only the second time in 123 Top Alcohol Funny Car National events, the only other time was Houston of last year. DeJoria with a lot of tire shake as soon as she lets the clutch out and she pedals it. She is out of the groove and doe a great job reeling it back in the groove and into the show. Newburgh got real loose and crossed the centerline and then darted back across his lane and hit the wall real hard...and the body went flying off the car and the chassis came to stop in the middle of the track. The word from the top end is that Newburgh was checked out and okay. Left Lane: John Lombardo Jr. Runs 8.577/103.99, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.621/256.21, Was #3 Right Lane: Paul Gill No Time, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.695/251.34, Was #9 Lombardo Jr. got out of the groove early and real close to the wall before he clicked it off...something went wrong because as soon as Gill left the starting line his E.T. came up on the scoreboard. So his time will not count.
