JOLIET, Ill. - 1:18 p.m. Mother Nature has been playing with us all day, with brief, light sprinkles that delayed things for a minute or two, even
as long as 20 minutes once, but now it's really raining.
The track is wet and shiny, so we'll be down for a bit, but it's still warm enough that racing could resume fairly quickly if it
quits in a few minutes.
The track was quiet when the rain started, racing halted when Burl Brown's car went into the sand pit and then the net. The car was
so tangled in the net that it took about 10 minutes to get Brown out of the car. He's okay and the car might be fixable.
Stay tuned, we'll let you know when the situation changes.
By the way, officially this isn't a rain delay until the net is fixed, which is going to be another 30-45 minutes. By then, the track may be dry again.
