Competition Eliminator Qualifying Notes, Final Session

JOLIET, Ill. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 13th annual United Association Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by Miller Welders listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed this round, amount over/under index this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time, speed & over/under Index, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Shaun Vincent Runs 8.673/153.25/-0.457, Now #21; C/TA Index: 9.13, Prior Best: 8.623/153.44/-0.507, Was #21
Right Lane: Greg Kamplain Runs 7.013/189.12/-0.547, Now #17; C/DA Index: 7.56, Prior Best: 7.016/188.86/-0.544, Was #17

10:31 a.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 75 degrees, relative humidity 63 percent, barometer 29.10 inches, adjusted altitude 2,738 feet, track temperature 93 degrees.

Mixed results for the first pair out today, no help for Vincent, small improvement for Kamplain, stays put on the ladder.

Same deal here, but Warren moved three spots up on the ladder.

Biondo improved over his first apss yesterday...by a thousandth. Harris improved slightly, moved back into the second spot.

These two have three consistent runs each this weekend.

It looked like Barone ran it all the way through, his speed off just half a mph. Voges failed to improve, his three runs within 0.008 seconds of each other.

No help for Greenheck, but Billingsley moved a couple spots away from the bump spot.

Chamness had a big wheelstand and lifted. Sounded like Graves' car did not shift.

Bill Riemenapp was on the bump spot at -0.304. Kelly went into a wheelstand, got out of the throttle, and slowed around half track. Panagiotaros ran within a few thousandths of his only run yesterday.

Massel came closer to a full-power pass here, still needs to turn the screws a little tighter. Winje was slow from the start and stays outside the field.

Jenkins was the last car with a chance to bump into the field. Ambrose's car slowly left the line and idled down the track. Jenkins made his best run of the event, still came up short of the field.

Riemenapp improved a few hundredths, stayed on the last rung of the ladder. No improvement for Nrown.

Arnold improved slightly, moved up a few spots. No help for Lambeck.

Best pass of the event for Ellis, moved him up several spots. No improvement for Browell.

Hickey lifted at 1,000 feet. Antony made his best run of the event, stayed 30th.

Rampy lifted at 1,000 feet. Allen appeared to make a full pass, no improvement.

Identidcal engines in the Aragona team cars...both lifted around 1,000 feet.

Left Lane: Arnie Martel Runs 7.622/176.07/-0.578, Now #6; D/AA Index: 8.20, Prior Best: 7.601/177.58/-0.599, Was #6

Martel ran it all the way through, no improvement. That concludes Competition Eliminator qualifying.
