CHANDLER, Ariz. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 26th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Mike Strasburg Runs 3.994/301.60, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 78 degrees, relative humidity 26 percent, barometer 28.62 inches, adjusted altitude 3,214 feet, track temperature 102 degrees.

Strasburg with a nice pass to start the weekend...Mike Strasburg's incremental times: 60ft-0.871 sec., 330ft-2.248, 660ft-3.202/266.48 mph.

Left Lane: Terry McMillen Runs 10.795/75.28, Now #3
Right Lane: Steven Chrisman Runs 9.446/93.60, Now #2

McMillen was up in smoke as soon as he hit the throttle. Chrisman was up in smoke by the time they go by the Christmas tree.

Left Lane: Chris Karamesines Runs 4.098/261.12, Now #2
Right Lane: David Grubnic Runs 5.655/113.81, Now #3

Grubnic started to loose traction around 250 feet and he clicks it off. Karamesines starts hazing the tires on the top end and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 9.399/76.05, Now #5
Right Lane: Morgan Lucas Runs 3.984/274.66, Now #1

Torrence started to lose traction right off the starting line. Lucas started mixing up cylinders around 800 feet.

Left Lane: Troy Buff Runs 8.678/94.18, Now #6
Right Lane: Brandon Bernstein Runs 7.100/91.35, Now #5

Buff is up in smoke by 150 feet and clicks it off. Bernstein is off the throttle by 300 feet.

Left Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.935/305.01, Now #2
Right Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 3.870/315.12, Now #1

Brown had a hole out early and never picked it up, but still goes to the number two spot. Langdon with a real nice pass to go to the number one spot...Shawn Langdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.856 sec., 330ft-2.187, 660ft-3.105/276.29 mph.

Left Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 5.194/130.56, Now #7
Right Lane: Cory McClenathan Runs 5.058/136.50, Now #6

These two are up in smoke at almost the same time...

Left Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 6.915/85.69, Now #10
Right Lane: Larry Dixon Runs 3.837/317.57, Now #1

Dixon with a great looking pass and straight to the number one spot. Larry Dixon's incremental times: 60ft-0.840 sec., 330ft-2.158, 660ft-3.076/277.26 mph. Kalitta was up in smoke and clicked it off.
