CORDOVA, Ill. -- It wasn't for a lack of trying, but icy conditions has forced the cancellation of the HangoverFest scheduled for Friday, January 1, 2010 at Cordova Dragway Park. "The rain on Christmas Eve melted a lot of the snow pack but it also created a massive layer of ice on the race surface that we just can't get cleared off, said Scott Gardner, we had hoped that the sunshine on Tuesday would be enough to loosen the ice but is wasn't."

"The snow is something that we have been able to work around in past HangoverFest events, however ice is different and we cannot use salt as we don't want to chance any erosion of the race surface itself." continued Gardner. Plans are in works in the works for a bigger and better HangoverFest in 2011 as we have now lost two events in the past decade and plan a really special event in the future.
