CRETE, Ill. -- Rumors are laid to rest as the Mountain Motor Pro Stock Association (MMPSA) announces a five event schedule for 2010. The fastest Mountain Motor Pro Stocks in the country will come together to battle it out at some of drag racing's best and most historic tracks. These five events will be unrelated to any other majorly sanctioned event and will not conflict with the ADRL schedule, allowing Pro Stock teams to race at all Mountain Motor venues in 2010. Pete Berner, a spokesman for the MMPSA, explains the reasoning behind the association:

"Our goal was to give our class the opportunity to race in a quarter mile format at facilities that can produce record breaking side by side performances, while giving fans the ability to witness all the action. We designed the format so that the founding series of the MMPSA would have the best conditions possible to achieve our goals. We're excited for the venues that are on board for 2010 as well as the interest from racers and manufacturers. We have been overwhelmed with support from all of the manufacturers that make the equipment utilized on our race cars. We will have some exciting announcements in the very near future.

"We have also received great interest from other race facilities who wish to have our brand of racing. We appreciate everyone's support of Mountain Motor Pro Stock and are very excited about future possibilities."

With huge Mountain Motor racer support, a Limited Liability Company is currently being formed by some of the founding members. A governing board with up to 20 members will also be in place for the MMPSA.

The MMPSA also has the support of the ADRL and wishes to thank them for their guidance in launching this program.
