This is the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle debut for both riders - Moreno is the Division 7 Sportsman Motorcycle champ and the third member of the family to run here today - his brothers are racing in Sportsman categories. Moreno's engine died, but he was able to get it refired and he made a good first pass. Matthews-Baugues slowed almost
immediately and coasted through. Left Lane: Rhett Lougheed Runs 7.368/178.90, Now #3 Right Lane: Larry Cook Runs 7.094/185.51, Now #1 Good run by Cook. Lougheed was off the pace early, finished strongly. Left Lane: James Surber Runs 7.219/182.11, Now #3 Right Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.142/187.44, Now #2 Left Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 7.075/190.57, Now #1 Right Lane: Redell Harris Runs 7.167/184.57, Now #4 Good run by Underdahl to go to the head of the list - for now - on a former Steve Johnson bike. Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.086/187.73, Now #3 Right Lane: Junior Pippin Runs 7.126/189.36, Now #5 Pippin's bike rolled the beams, may have lost some ET right at the start. Left Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.063/188.81, Now #3 Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.982/191.70, Now #1 Stoffer made a nice run to give us the first six of the day. Gann also made a clean run, but could not match Stoffer's pace. Left Lane: Douglas Horne Runs 7.421/188.83, Now #17 Right Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.021/193.54, Now #2 Horne rode a Nitro Harley last weekend, at the Division 7 race in Las Vegas. He had a very slow 60-foot time, killing his ET, and it sounded like the engine bogged a bit. Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 25.174/66.14, Now #20 Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.986/192.33, Now #2 Smith spun the tire and shut if off quickly, coasting through. Nice pass by Hines to move in right behind Stoffer in the lineup. Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 7.164/192.00, Now #14 Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.997/189.71, Now #3 These two are contending for the championship, Arana leading by 54 points, so the qualifying bonus points are very important to these two. Krawiec's bike spun the tire and wagged its tail on the launch for an off-pace 1.217 60-foot time and he didn't even make the 12-bike field. Arana squeaked into the third spot after a strong start. Stoffer gets the 3 point bonus,
Hines gets 2, and Arana gets 1 bonus point.
