Thu, 10 Sep 2009, 10:30 PM Stock Family Racing Pleased with First NHRA Pro Mod Showing

CLERMONT, Ind. -- Jason Stock's first NHRA invite turned out to be an exciting adventure. When the team accepted the invitation to the prestigious U.S. Nationals, for the Get Screened Pro Mod Challenge, they knew they had their work cut out for them. Driver Jason Stock stated. "We are new to Pro Mod so we know we have some dues to pay. We set off with the goal to qualify in the field. We figured to qualify amongst these top rated teams would be a great accomplishment in our own right". They did just that in fine fashion running a 6.07 @ 233 mph placing them in the 11 spot in the tough Indy field.

"We new we had to be on our game straight out of the trailer because it is Indy and the radar showed rain. It might be our first NHRA race but we know enough to be ready to loose a qualifier if weather goes bad", explained team owner Warren Stock. That plan proved to be effective as it did rain and qualifying was cut back to only 2 sessions.

As the call went out for first round the team was plagued with dead batteries during the warm up procedure. It was an all out thrash to get them replaced and make it to the staging lanes for the first round of eliminations. They made it in time but unfortunately over powered the track and we defeated by Mike Knowles.

Stock stated, "We are just taking one race at a time. I need to thank Darren Mayer of DMPE Inc for providing us with the needed power to be competitive with the M5 supercharger and assembly of our engines. Also need to thank AJPE for the engine parts and cylinder heads. We are looking forward to refining our combination to make it run to its full potential. We still have room in our tune up and didn't hurt a single part on the weekend". Thanks also go to our crew guys and especially our wife's for a weekend to play with our toy and Alan Pittman for building us a great hot rod.

The next outing for the Stock's Racing team will be the season final for the Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge in Las Vegas, Nevada Oct 30- Nov 1St.
