BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Bill Reichert and the Rislone Engine Treatment Top Alcohol Dragster team went on a tear this past weekend at the NHRA Division 3 event at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, KY. Reichert and co. achieved a number of impressive feats over the course of the weekend, far too many to fit into one headline. Reichert and his team began the weekend by taking the #1 qualifier position Saturday night, annihilating the track record in the process by ripping off a 5.262 second run at 265.64mph that left the competition scratching their heads and wishing for more horsepower. "Bowling Green is traditionally a good track for us," explained Reichert. "We won five times here with a blown alcohol car years ago, and we've picked up three wins with the A-fueler. We decided to be a bit aggressive with our tune up for the Saturday night qualifying session, and it sure paid off!" Round One action would kick off Sunday, and as Reichert described it, he and his Rislone team "had a lucky round." After burning up the track en route to the top qualifying position, the team opted to tone things down a bit for the first round of eliminations, to ensure that a minor mistake would not cost them the chance to race late into the day. Reichert and Lady Luck would have their work cut out for them, however, as the Rislone rail would drop a pair of cylinders just a few seconds into the run. Despite what would normally be a crippling failure in the horsepower department, the Rislone machine continued its way down the track and managed to knock out first round opponent, Illinois' Brian Mans. As the Division 3 meet in Bowling Green was an 8-car field, the second round would also be the semi-finals, and there Reichert would meet Lowell, IN resident David Hirata. And once again, Reichert's Rislone rocketship would blast off to another round win, earning him a trip to the finals. "David is a great competitor, but he had been struggling some and we knew that, so we resolved to make a good, solid pass down the track and make no mistakes." Reichert would do just that, putting up a 5.341sec. pass at 265.22mph, which easily defeated Hirata's 14+ sec. tire smoking run. For the fifth time in five Division 3 races this year, Bill Reichert and his Rislone Engine Treatment dragster approached the starting line in the final round with victory lane as their intended destination. Reichert's opponent, Urbana, IL's Brandon Booher, would leave the line first but his holeshot would not be enough to overcome the Michigan-based Rislone team. Reichert's 5.387sec. pass at 261.22mph would be more than enough to topple Booher's 5.658sec. run at just over 227mph. Out of the five Division 3 races held this year, Reichert had managed to win four and finish as a runner-up in the fifth. Not too shabby. "This win only reinforces my belief that we have the best team in Top Alcohol today," said an enthusiastic yet humble Reichert. "It takes a lot out of a group of people to perform this well week after week, but this team has put in the hours and it shows." The Rislone Engine Treatment team heads now to the famed MAC Tools US Nationals in Indianapolis, one of the most legendary events in the history of drag racing. "We plan on going into Indy with a clear head, but on the same token its hard to not be aware of the facts," explained Reichert. "We've won the US Nationals twice in the last three years. We'd sure like to add a third. Last year we won in Bowling Green, and then went on to Indy and picked up the win. That plan worked out pretty good last year, so I think that's what we are going to go with this time around." The flagship Rislone product is Rislone Engine Treatment.
