CLERMONT, Ind. -- Nearly ten years ago a T-shirt designer added a catchy title to the Emmons Motorsports' shirt, as it read "There is a Dynasty Growing in Texas." Since that time, the Emmons brothers consisting of triplets Terry, Jerry and Gary, as well as older brother Harvey "Speedy" Emmons III have amassed a sportsman resume that many could only dream of obtaining. With one world championship, 14 division championships, 32 national event wins and 62 divisional event wins to their credit, the "dynasty" heads to Indy with the hopes of each adding to their overall victories, as the triplets will represent the family in five entries for this year's "Big Go". The Indianapolis National Event marks NHRA's 700th National Event, along with holding the classification of one of the most cherished races in all of drag racing. Additionally, this race designates the 15-year anniversary of Jerry Emmons' win in Stock Eliminator, when he took his class victory during the 40th annual running of the event. Lastly, yet definitely the largest (in scale that is), the Emmons brothers will debut their new transporter in honor of the 55th Annual U.S. National Event sponsored by Lucas Oil themselves. The 53' hauler carries the Lucas name amidst red, white and blue graphic elements to highlight Lucas Oil's support and dedication to Emmons Motorsports. "This is an exciting time for us," states Jerry Emmons. "The 'boys' and I have talked about having a hauler built for many years, and we feel this will add a great deal to our racing program, as well as offering some amenities and opportunities that we could not before accomplish. We all contribute quite a bit of effort into keeping our cars extremely competitive and feel this will help by keeping the cars and equipment out of the weather, while hauling them across the country in a rolling Lucas billboard," completes Jerry. "Gary put in a majority of the effort behind building this trailer. While we all had a say in what we felt was needed, he spent countless hours on the phone with Dan Fletcher Trailer Sales, as well as those at T&E to make sure everything was perfect," adds Terry Emmons. He continues by stating, "The rig turned out flawless and we really owe a big 'thanks' to Scott Brown for all of his hard work on the wrap. It is one we feel that Forrest, Charlotte and everyone at Lucas Oil Products will be proud to call their own." "We have a lot to be excited about and thankful for right now," comments Gary Emmons. "The 'boys' and I have been extremely busy at our business, Emmons Motor Company, and we are looking forward to getting back to the race track. As a whole, we have had a successful year, so far, at the events attended, and with everything that surrounds this event, it would be great to carry that momentum forward to turn in several late round finishes. Regardless of what happens, Jerry, Terry and myself are simply ready to go racing!" concludes Gary. "The Emmons would like to thank those who support them and make their racing dream possible. If it were not for Lucas Oil Products, Hoosier Racing Tire, Jet Hot Coatings, Hedman Husler Headers and Jeg's High Performance, the 'boys' would not be able to race at such a competitive level," states Team PR Manager Katie Johnson.
