CLERMONT, Ind. - Notes from round 3 time trials in Pro Modified at the NHRA, Indianapolis Test Session Day 1 listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Raymond Commisso Runs 11.356/74.75, Now #5; Best prior run: 11.701/72.85, Was #5

3:22 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 84 degrees, relative humidity 44 percent, barometer 29.20 inches, adjusted altitude 3,177 feet, track temperature 125 degrees.

Commisso ran into tire shake almost immediately. Raymond Commisso's incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-3.083, 660ft-5.691/084.75 mph, 1,000ft-8.517.

Left Lane: Mike Knowles Runs 6.458/168.53, Now #2; Best prior run: 10.848/78.52, Was #4

3:36 p.m. Knowles made his best run of the weekend, avoiding the early shakes that ended the first two runs. He shut off around 1,000 feet. Mike Knowles' incremental times: 60ft-0.983 sec., 330ft-2.634, 660ft-3.959/187.73 mph, 1,000ft-5.202.

Left Lane: Melanie Troxel Runs 9.032/100.50, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.703/161.79, Was #4

3:45 p.m. Troxel was in Roger Burress' '68 Camaro for this run. The car left hard, started getting a little loose about 300 feet out, and she lifted. Melanie Troxel's incremental times: 60ft-0.978 sec., 330ft-2.742, 660ft-4.745/110.55 mph, 1,000ft-6.901.

Left Lane: Joe Baker Runs 6.624/138.05, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.575/144.16, Was #3

3:49 p.m. Nice-looking run by Baker. Once again there was a puff of smoke when he put the chutes out around 1,000 feet and this time it looked more like talcum powder from the chutes. Joe Baker's incremental times: 60ft-0.986 sec., 330ft-2.641, 660ft-3.966/188.23 mph, 1,000ft-5.190.
