CLERMONT, Ind. - 10:45 a.m. - The first of two days of testing prior to the 55th annual MAC Tools U.S. Nationals is just getting under way at
O'Reilly Raceway park at Indianapolis, with the testing today limited to Pro Stock, Pro Stock Motorcycle, Pro Modified, and Top
Alcohol cars. The fuel cars will run tomorrow.
Drag Race Central will be here both days to bring you notes from the mid-season testing. As is usual with testing, there are no
formal "rounds" or "sessions," the teams just bring the cars to the lanes when ready and it's first-come, first served.
The weather forecast is typical late-summer stuff for this area: hot, somewhat humid, with a chance (slight today, 20 percent
tomorrow) of pop-up showers late in the afternoon. Right now it's clear and sunny, so the track should get up into the 120-plus
degree range around noon or so.
