BRAINERD, Minn. -- Special awards from the 28th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals.

K&N Filters Horsepower Challenge award ($3,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock) - Mike Edwards, Broken Arrow, Okla., ART Pontiac GXP, 6.694 seconds, 205.35 mph.

Ringers Gloves Pro Bike Battle award ($1,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock Motorcycle) - Hector Arana, Milltown, Ind., Lucas Oil Buell, 7.048 seconds, 187.52 mph.

Best Engineered Vehicle - Hoover Wheel Super Gas entry. Rider: Steve Tharp, Maple Grove, Minn.

NHRA Best Appearing Car - Matchless Performance Inc., Super Comp entry. Driver: Ken Griffiths, Eden Prairie, Minn.

NHRA Best Appearing Crew - C Tech Aluminum Cabinets, Competition Eliminator entry. Drivers: Jim Greenheck, Schofield, Wis.

Strange Engineering "Perfectly Strange" performance award ($250 bonus to the first racer in Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street who wins an elimination round by running dead-on their dial-in or index) - Super Stock: Mark Nowicki, Gaylord Mich.; Stock: No Winner.; Super Comp: No winner; Super Gas: No winner; Super Street: Not Contested.

Quest for the Full Throttle Moment Award ($3,000 each to Top Fuel and Funny Car, $1,500 to Pro Stock and $750 to Pro Stock Motorcycle for the top moment in each category during the event):
Top Fuel: Morgan Lucas for winning the event his family sponsors. In addition to receiving the Wally from his parents Forrest and Charlotte Lucas.
Funny Car: Tony Pedregon for winning the final eliminations in spite of a huge crew chief shakeup. Former Crew Chief Dickie Venables departed the team just prior to the event.
Pro Stock: Jason Line for defeating Mike Edwards in the semi-finals on a hole shot. He ensures both Summit Racing cars go on to the finals on hole shots.
Pro Stock Motorcycle: Hector Arana for an impressive round one win of 6.944 E.T.
