Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #3

BRAINERD, Minn. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 28th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Right Lane: Johnny Gray Runs 6.733/204.85, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.802/202.94, Was #12

Weather conditions: air temperature 78 degrees, relative humidity 66 percent, barometer 28.50 inches, adjusted altitude 3,769 feet, track temperature 95 degrees.

Gray with a great pass to go to the number two spot. Johnny Gray's incremental times: 60ft-1.000 sec., 330ft-2.814, 660ft-4.328/162.88 mph, 1,000ft-5.633.

Left Lane: Bob Benza Runs 6.908/200.05, Now #13; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Dave River Runs 7.087/194.21, Now #14; No Prior Run

River spun the tires right off the starting line. Bob Benza's incremental times: 60ft-1.009 sec., 330ft-2.890, 660ft-4.447/158.59 mph, 1,000ft-5.784.

Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.769/202.36, Now #6; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Mark Hogan Runs 7.558/133.67, Now #16; No Prior Run

Morgan with a nice pass to get into the top half of the show. Larry Morgan's incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.815, 660ft-4.342/161.30 mph, 1,000ft-5.658.

Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.785/202.67, Now #11; No Prior Run

Johnson with a nice pass to get into the top half of the show...Kurt Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.014 sec., 330ft-2.833, 660ft-4.353/162.25 mph, 1,000ft-5.662. Spiess moves up the ladder one spot with a real nice pass...Steve Spiess' incremental times: 60ft-1.003 sec., 330ft-2.821, 660ft-4.340/162.29 mph, 1,000ft-5.651.

Brogdon with a great pass to go all the way up to the number three spot. Rodger Brogdon's incremental times: 60ft-1.000 sec., 330ft-2.812, 660ft-4.328/162.47 mph, 1,000ft-5.635. WJ gets into the top half of the show...Warren Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.015 sec., 330ft-2.832, 660ft-4.346/163.10 mph, 1,000ft-5.650.

Deceglie with the quickest short time of the round and he goes to the number two spot...Vinnie Deceglie's incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.799, 660ft-4.318/162.41 mph, 1,000ft-5.627. Line goes to the number one spot with a great pass...Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.804, 660ft-4.318/162.68 mph, 1,000ft-5.622.

This was a great drag race and Anderson goes to the number one spot...Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.799, 660ft-4.308/163.24 mph, 1,000ft-5.610. Krisher to the number two spot...Ron Krisher's incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.817, 660ft-4.323/165.36 mph, 1,000ft-5.626.

Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.694/205.35, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.732/204.70, Was #5
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.701/204.98, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.741/204.26, Was #8

These guys go straight back to the number one and two spots with a great drag race. Edwards is the only one in the .60s and also has top speed of the event. Edwards has been the quickest after every session. Johnson with another great pass and he explained he and his father are trying some new stuff and it appears to be working. Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-0.986 sec., 330ft-2.790, 660ft-4.299/163.45 mph, 1,000ft-5.599.
Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.976 sec., 330ft-2.786, 660ft-4.299/162.82 mph, 1,000ft-5.603.
