Top Alcohol Dragster Qualifying Notes, Session #2

BRAINERD, Minn. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 28th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Bill Evans Runs 6.001/240.89, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.108/243.94, Was #15
Right Lane: Jim Whiteley Runs 5.499/261.62, Now #5; Best prior run: 16.227/64.63, Was #17

Evans was dropping cylinders right at the hit and it never did clean up. Whiteley is straight down the groove to get into the top half of the show. Jim Whiteley's incremental times: 60ft-0.952 sec., 330ft-2.462, 660ft-3.634/211.43 mph, 1,000ft-4.642.

Left Lane: Dave Hirata Runs 5.831/245.18, Now #16; Best prior run: 5.781/253.56, Was #15
Right Lane: Edwin Schmeeckle Runs 5.628/256.84, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.603/117.31, Was #17

No help here for Hirata...Schmeeckle gets into the show and that bumps out Evans. Edwin Schmeeckle's incremental times: 60ft-0.931 sec., 330ft-2.469, 660ft-3.712/201.16 mph, 1,000ft-4.753.

Left Lane: Darren Nicholson Runs 6.113/173.87, Now #13; Best prior run: 5.652/251.91, Was #12
Right Lane: Scott Murray Runs 5.624/246.89, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.684/254.04, Was #15

No help here for Nicholson...Murray improves and moves up the ladder. Scott Murray's incremental times: 60ft-1.037 sec., 330ft-2.580, 660ft-3.747/215.27 mph, 1,000ft-4.739.

Left Lane: Monroe Guest Runs 5.463/255.87, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.514/259.51, Was #6
Right Lane: Jared Dreher Runs 5.709/240.68, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.674/246.30, Was #15

Guest makes another good pass and moves up the ladder one spot...Monroe Guest's incremental times: 60ft-0.955 sec., 330ft-2.475, 660ft-3.629/216.38 mph, 1,000ft-4.606. No help here for Dreher.

Left Lane: Bill Reichert Runs 5.459/258.12, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.452/258.07, Was #4
Right Lane: Darryl Hitchman Runs 5.672/253.42, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.598/263.36, Was #10

No help for either driver, but Reichert is just a tick slower than his earlier pass.

Left Lane: Shawn Cowie Runs 5.425/264.91, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.430/264.44, Was #3
Right Lane: Justin Davis Runs 5.507/259.06, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.554/258.76, Was #9

Davis improves and moves up into the top half of the show...Justin Davis' incremental times: 60ft-0.961 sec., 330ft-2.444, 660ft-3.627/208.17 mph, 1,000ft-4.643. Cowie improves, but stays in the number three spot. Shawn Cowie's incremental times: 60ft-0.948 sec., 330ft-2.409, 660ft-3.576/211.83 mph, 1,000ft-4.577.

Left Lane: Robin Samsel Runs 5.537/249.53, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.424/249.76, Was #2
Right Lane: Brandon Johnson Runs 5.851/239.78, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.550/256.84, Was #9

No help here for either driver here...Robin Samsel's incremental times: 60ft-1.023 sec., 330ft-2.549, 660ft-3.700/218.58 mph, 1,000ft-4.675.
Brandon Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.013 sec., 330ft-2.629, 660ft-3.862/202.15 mph, 1,000ft-4.925.

Left Lane: Brandon Lewis Runs 5.298/268.76, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.293/270.43, Was #1
Right Lane: Dan Kracht Runs 5.484/257.24, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.518/252.80, Was #8

Kracht improves and moves up the ladder a couple spots. Dan Kracht's incremental times: 60ft-0.958 sec., 330ft-2.493, 660ft-3.647/216.79 mph, 1,000ft-4.629. Lewis with anther great looking pass, once again the quickest pass of the round...Brandon Lewis' incremental times: 60ft-0.936 sec., 330ft-2.417, 660ft-3.527/225.67 mph, 1,000ft-4.474.
